1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Fun with Fleece on: December 20, 2009 11:20:50 AM
Just learning?  You're learning pretty quickly!  Love the top hat, especially!
why thank you  Grin I am picking it up pretty quick and loving it!

The top hat was a challenge.  I ended up using cardboard from a frozen pizza box for the rim, next one I am going to use wire so I can reshape it as need be.  The ultimate goal is to sew a fleece suit to match the top hat muwah ha hahaha hahahaha

My husband says watch out for the static electricty when you wear your suit    Grin

Beautiful  Grin

Your patience shows in your great results.  Mine always have one good corner and the rest looks like I cut it with a lawn mower

That's really cute.  I love the color schemes and the cupcakes on the borders.  What a  great baby quilt.

Glad you like the cupcakes ala Joann  Wink...I think they are my favorite part of the quilt.

That is soooo cute!  Love how the normal zig-zag quilt gets turned into snakes - it;s really really cute!  Almost makes me wish I had a baby to quilt for . . .

Make one for yourself...You'll giggle every time you use it.  I think I might make one for myself too...either that or one of the underpants quilt  Wink

Very Fun...I want to take a long arm class...Do you have your own machine or do you rent time at a local shop?  I'm wondering how long the quilting portion took to see if I can justify the cost of class and rental fees at my local quilt shop.

Great job!!

Just completed this fun 1/2 square triangle quilt for a friend's new baby girl...First project post to Craftster and can't wait to see how everything works Grin

Quilt pattern is free from Sylvia & Le Roy Hirsch,Triangles on a Roll  / HQS Inc www.trianglesonaroll.com
I did not use the triangles on a roll (alas...I was born a cheapskate and raised by cheapskates) but I really appreciate the free pattern

Back is fleece and I skipped the traditional "quilt sandwich"  The edges are that flip over double bias thingy with mitered corners.  I used an embroidery machine to make a special name tag.

Really had quilter's remorse on this one.  Glad it's done but sad to see it go.

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: 7 weeks pregnant on: November 21, 2009 06:29:16 PM
I think something for the mom would be great.  Some places do special massage for pregnant women.  If she has aches or anything this would be nice.  Maybe also a special picture frame (I like homemade the best) for ultrasound pictures.  I heard that they degrade if left on the original paper, so make a copy.

Do check in on her after the baby comes...It was a real let down to have everyone ask how you're doing for 40 weeks and then drop you like a hot potato when the baby comes.  That came out kind of bitter...I just mean fawn over both her and the little one.  Smiley
