14  Handmade BackGammon Set in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ageddert on: January 28, 2010 07:30:12 PM
I made a backgammon set for my Mom.

I started out with a case that had a kids paint and pencil set inside. I ripped out the plastic and then sandpapered it.

The out side I decorated with felt to make it match the forest day/night theme.

I hand painted all of the trees then the rest was cutting out paper and using modge podge.

When it was dry, I painted on the tree trunks and the grass.

The peices and dice are made from polymer clay and I sewed little felt bags to hold the peices. You can either be on the purple/green team or the blue/red team!

I gave it to my mom today and she loved it. We played it for the first time and I was the closest to beating her I have ever been! But i still lost  Cheesy But it was still fun!

Thanks for looking

Comments/Suggestions/Critiques very welcome!

15  Tulip Hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ageddert on: January 28, 2010 07:14:44 PM
This is my newest and favorite hoodie!

There  is a big flap in the front attatched with two buttons with tulips on them. The tulip applique is made of felt and was hand sewn on. It also has hidden side pockets made from the same printed fabric as the hood.

It has a really big hood and thumb holes.. and I cant wait to wear it to the skagit valley tulip festival this spring!

Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions are very welcome Smiley

I recieved my wonderful package from Jennilocker!

I jumped up and down a little when I came in the house and my husband had this pretty package sitting on the table!

This package was so much fun to open. It had a nice hello note ontop and everything was wrapped in pink bubble wrap  Cheesy

I got these really nice labyrinthy drawings and this beautiful little crystal ball. I have never seen one like it- the inside sparkles rainbow colors!

One of my favorite characters william the worm sitting atop his very own crystal ball. She said this was the first time she worked with polymer clay isnt that amazing??

And last but NOT least:

A ludo pencil holder!! I love him. Now I can take my writing utensils out of that grungy glass jar and display them in something amazing.

Thank you so much jennilocker for a wonderful first swap experience I had so much fun and your crafts definately found a very happy home!!

17  Re: Prescription Pill Bottles in What the heck can I do with THIS? by ageddert on: January 12, 2010 05:18:41 PM
I have crohns disease and have tons of pill bottles. I have been wondering the same thing! I was thinking of making a trash can out of them loosley inspired by this : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=232043.0

I also took some of my pill bottles of a specific shape and covered them in clay and painted them like babuska dolls.

Their heads come off and you can hide things inside!
unfortunately, the clay I used cracked but it was still a fun recon.

19  Cutest Pill box ever! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ageddert on: January 12, 2010 01:38:21 PM
I have lots of pills to take daily and am tired of carrying around the old lady's regular pill box. This is the first needlepoint project ive done and it fits my box of pills perfect!

I was inspired by a needlepoint box to look like a nintendo controller.

The closure is just yarn that wraps around a heart button.

I lined the inside of the box with blue felt:

Now I have the hippest pill box on the block!

20  Children's Plush activity Book in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ageddert on: January 12, 2010 01:22:15 PM
I made a childrens activity book out of plushie felt!

The apples have velcro and can come off of the tree (but are connected by clear thread) and the flowers can be unbuttoned and come out of the pot to play! Smiley

The shoes can be untied and unlaced!

If only I had a baby of my own to give this to! I love making kids toys but dont know any.
