titaniumhip - OH MY GAHH that "sockticorn" is SO perfect I wisted it right away Wink  I love how it looks like orange zebra stripes.. how cute.

Here is my practice monkey.. Truthfully I only did a practice because I knew I would want to keep my first one for myself... I always get connected to my "first" tries.. I am glad I did a practice though because I definately need to find some better socks and make the next one less lumpy. I also am going to make the tail skinnier and of course the next one will be way more dressed up Grin

The tail is so fat you can stand her up like a tripod!

That quilt is so impressive. It inspires me to make something scrappy like that and I like the pictures on fabric! What a good idea.

I posted all of the jewelry I have been making here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=340199.0

I can finally post the pictures of the package ChibikoKy sent to me!!
She sent so much so there are lots of pics!
First she made me a magnetic chalk board which will come in very handy! And a matching magnet with a sponge. She also included some oragami cranes!

She made me a wonderful charm bracelet out of shrinkydinks. There is so much detail. I love the chicken!!

Next I got an alton themed flaming recipe box! It had some flaming note cards inside ready for recipes too!

Then, she painted me a good eats tshirt! She did such a good job and I love the colors.

And last but CERTAINLY not least, an alton themed apron!!!!

I LOVE it!! It says "only one unitasker in my kitchen". I also like that the colors are manly enough for my husband to use when he grills.
Thanks so much again for the great package. I really feel spoiled and didnt expect so much! I felt like the box was bottomless Grin

7  Circle Scarf with tutorial *img heavy* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ageddert on: February 04, 2010 04:16:16 PM
I have been getting requests on making a tutorial for a circle scarf. Now, I am not a very technical person more of a "just do it and see if it works" but I will do my best with measurements and all. I hope you enjoy  Grin

So, my sister wanted a circle scarf from American Apparell but they were selling it for almost fourty bucks!
They are cute but that is just insane..here is the link: http://store.americanapparel.net/rsa0503burn.html?cid=51
Crazy right? Anyways, I made her one instead and not only did I save money, but it was one of the most simple pieces of clothing I have ever whipped up.

1. Start with a peice of soft stretch cotton fabric that is about 50"x60"

The fabric I used was a bit smaller because I didnt have a big enough peice. Feel free to play with the measurements but I thing 50x60 would be good if you wanted to use it as a dress or shirt like American Apparell does.
2. Fold it in half hot dog style, right sides together.

Pin and sew the open edge.
3. Turn right side out and it will be a big tube.

4. Next, fold one of the sides in so that the edge is folded and not raw.

Insert The other end of the tube into the folded end and pin.

Once you have everything pinned and the seam looks nice and straight, sew it up! Make sure to use a thread that matches your scarf because it will show.
I did a zigzag stitch and sewed some extra decoritive stripes around the outside of mine for fun.

Enjoy your new circle scarf! Whew, that was easy Grin

You can wear it so many different ways! Go to the american apparrell webpage to get more ideas.
It is cute to wear it as a hood too!
Thanks for looking! I hope that helps. If you make your own circlescarf, please post pics I would love to see different variations.
And p.s. I took the last picture in my sisters room (the only one w/a mirror) so that is totally not my mess  Wink lol.
Have a good day.

I took a peice of fabric and folded it in half and sewed, turned it right side out, folded it again and sew. That was crazy easy! Grin

I just recieved a box full of wonderful fabric from ghilie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much I love it all. The prints are so cute and I especially like the purple with gold specks it is beautiful.

I already made something out of the blue fabric:

Its a circle scarf inspired by the american apparell ones.. (they sell them for thirty dollars and it took me like five minutes.)

Anyways thank you so much again for all of your generosity, ghilie.
Your thank you gift will be on its way soon.

10  disposable grocery bag to reusable bag! in CHALLENGE 47 ENTRIES by ageddert on: February 02, 2010 01:20:32 PM

I made my bag out of plastic grocery bags.

Each square is a full grocery bag folded up so that it would be heavy duty.

I hand stitched on the red grocery bag to make a reduce/recycle/reuse heart.

The strap is made from braided bags.

The only materials used were plastic bags and thread!  Grin

I had so much fun with this challenge and am happy with the way this turned out. I feel so ecofriendly when I carry my bag and love the inspiration craftser gives me!

Thanks so much for looking!!
