I learned how to knit a few months ago and have finally finished my first big project, a baby blanket for my friend...well...for her baby. I completed a couple of smaller projects before finishing up the blanket, but I didn't want to upload any pictures until I was done. So here they are.
Since i'm a complete noob, I did this the hard way. Garter stitched a bunch of squares, crocheted them together and the crocheted a border around the whole thing. I think there is probably a better method.
I think it turned out okay. It's nothing fancy.
In my first break from the blanket I decided to use some scrap yarn and try out a little owl pattern. Sorry for the blurry picture, I just couldn't get a good shot of these guys.
I'm taking a trip to Washington state for Christmas and I always find my neck to be really chilly so I decided to knit myself a cowl. I found a really nice pattern on ravelry and voila. I goofed in a couple places, but this was really fun to make. It was my first time knitting in the round and magic loop knitting.
I'm really having fun with this hobby and with this site as well. Thanks for looking!
