81  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Newbie needs fabric help on: March 30, 2010 02:34:22 AM
hi Everyone,

i totally fell in love with TeenageRebelOfTheWeek's three awesome dresses. i do have a similar pattern New Look 6643.
Now for the recommended fabric it says to use Damask, Pique, Lightweight Wool and Wool Blends, Silks and Silk Types, Crepe, Jacquards, Silk Linen, Satin, Linen and Linen Blends, Shantung.
Would cotton work as well here? it is a non-stretch pattern right?
 Huh

Thanks for the help,
Cheers

82  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: cheap fabric online in Europe on: March 30, 2010 01:48:23 AM
i'm german but livin in the UK now. there are so many charity shops and 2nd hand shops here, but it is quite hard to find any in Germany. like Veri said, there are some fleemarkets but that's it. no thrift stores or charity shops.

have a look at myfabrics.co.uk - they are based in Hamburg, i think they are not too cheap but sometimes you can get some nice bargains. and they send you free samples. and they deliver for not too expensive cross Europe.

Oh i love the hat! i'd love to have one like that. Well done!

Sorry to hear that people sell hats made from your patterns, that really sucks.

Very Sweet Smiley well done.
So what did you do to make it less pumpkin-shaped? most patterns i find are for pumpkin shaped ones, but i like yours so much better. did you just fill it more?

cheers
