1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / 50/50 split on: January 13, 2010 11:12:53 AM
I had a lady ask me to make somethings for her store.  I was so excited!  Then she informed me that they take 50%.  I thought that this was really high.  But I figured the positives...she has 5 stores.  If I sell well then she will put them into her other stores.  That means BIG customer base potentially.  Also, I am just making 1 of each type of product.  For a display only.  She will then take the orders and hand them to me.  This is good bc I will then get customer contact info and email address which means that they can get on my mailing list and see my website.  And from then on order directly from me and I won't have to share anything! So do you think it is worth it - taking the inital 50% cut to hopefully have return customers for 100% coming to me?
