After a long absence from crafting due to stupid uni i'm enjoying busting out some crafts in my newly found free time in the summer hols My first big project is this beut!
She's my baby! well, technically my boyfriends baby, but still. It's taken me all day, but i'd definitely say that it was worth it. she started out as a simple nerf maverick, Although I forgot to take a picture of her before she got all prettied. She's been taken apart, sanded, scratched, painted, stained and put back together again. Here's a couple of in progress shots to show the journey!
base coat (this is when my boyfriend remembered that we were going to take pictures )
I used acrylic paints, but in future I definitley think I will invest in some of this RubnBuff stuff that seems to be common across the pond, I couldn't get it in edinburgh at such short notice but i'm quite intrigued by it. I will also be investing in a can of spray paint to get the base coat down. I did it by hand to try and save money and it was very annoying, especially when you just want to get cracking with the fun stuff.
Lastly, a fancy posing shot taken by my boyfriend on his new fangled camera-majig. C&C most welcome!
