1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Steampunk Nerf Gun Mod on: May 22, 2011 02:49:51 PM
Hi everyone!

After a long absence from crafting due to stupid uni i'm enjoying busting out some crafts in my newly found free time in the summer hols  Cool My first big project is this beut!

She's my baby!  well, technically my boyfriends baby, but still.  It's taken me all day, but i'd definitely say that it was worth it.  she started out as a simple nerf maverick, Although I forgot to take a picture of her before she got all prettied.  She's been taken apart, sanded, scratched, painted, stained and put back together again.  Here's a couple of in progress shots to show the journey!

base coat (this is when my boyfriend remembered that we were going to take pictures Cheesy)

I used acrylic paints, but in future I definitley think I will invest in some of this RubnBuff stuff that seems to be common across the pond, I couldn't get it in edinburgh at such short notice but i'm quite intrigued by it.  I will also be investing in a can of spray paint to get the base coat down.  I did it by hand to try and save money and it was very annoying, especially when you just want to get cracking with the fun stuff.

Lastly, a fancy posing shot taken by my boyfriend on his new fangled camera-majig.  C&C most welcome!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The doctor is in! Psychiatric help 5 cents! [snoopy themed] on: July 22, 2010 04:42:21 AM
Hi everyone, just thought I'd post this little tote bag I made a couple days ago.  I made it from a pattern in the "meet me at mikes" craft book and am so incredibly impressed with myself for 2 reasons - it's lined, which i almost never do on account of failing so hard at it - and 2, it hasn't fallen apart yet!

picturesss!!!!

The fabric is some really cute Charlie Brown/ Lucy print that I bought from Etsy and its got Lucy sitting at her "Psychiatrists" stall.  The blue stuff was just some scrap I had lying around.  I think next time I'll give it longer straps as the don't quite fit over my arm but it makes a cute little lunch/bookbag.

C&C welcome! -LadyB
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Sparkly shiny jingly goodness on: July 21, 2010 05:08:20 AM
Hey everyone! The bead store near me finally got in some coppery coloured chain ( I've never seen them stock it before, which is a nightmare cause I love it and it's so hard to find around here) so I figured it was a good chance to use up some of the coppery coloured charms i've had sitting in my drawer feeling all unloved Sad.  Sorry for the rubbish pics I don't have a proper camera and the light is rubbish because as ever in Edinburgh, it's pretty gloomy outside -_-

Earrings!

These are cute little misic charms I got in a market stall in Budapest when I went travelling last year.  I was all excited when I saw the little cellos 'cause I play the cello and i'm sad like that Cheesy

Necklace!

This is an old key I had lying around, I think from a diary I used to have when I was a kid.  It has little jingly bells that jingle when you walk!

awkward action shot!

*pew pew pew* *foom* *explosion*.  I bet that was the most action packed action shot ever!

c&c welcome!  - LadyB

4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 45 ENTRIES / Steampunk teapot! on: December 05, 2009 04:29:29 PM
I was very excited about this project because it was my first time entering a craft challenge and my first time steampunking anything!  the inspiration came from my boyfriend who is quite into steampunk things in general and we just thought it would be quite quirky.  anyway, before and after pics! ( sorry for the rubbish pics I don't have a camera so they were taken on my phone!)

Before - the ugliest teapot you ever did saw!  I felt really sorry for it.

During - this is after one base coat and four coats of copper paint - lots of painting!

All the nuts are put in place

The final product!!

I'm really proud of this project because it was something totally new to me and I had a lot of fun with it.  It wasn't too much hard work and I think I may still add to it in time, it would be cool to get the light bulbs to actually light.  Thanks for looking! c&c appreciated!
5  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Masquerade! on: November 17, 2009 03:52:52 AM
My Boyfriend is studying stage management at college this year, and for his prop design class he had to design and make a mask.  He chose a masquerade theme and got to work, I helped him with the gold bits, and he put sponge on the inside of the mask so its more comfortable to wear.  we're both rather proud of it and its got him into crafts kindof! without much further ado, pictures!

c&c welcome!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Belated halloween on: November 17, 2009 03:43:34 AM
sorry it took me so long to get round to posting this!!
On halloween my boyfriend and I were supposed to be going out to a party but I got sick Sad so we decided to stay home and carve a pumpkin instead since o've never done it before.  We didn't realise how hard it would be to get a pumpkin on halloween because we are dopey  Cheesy so all the shops had sold out that morning, so I present to you, the halloween turnip! (we kicked it old school)

Then a couple of days after we were walking around the shops and we found the most amazing thing ever - a tiny tiny pumpkin! well technically it was a form of squash, but we decided to carve that anyway!

not a great picture, just thought it was really cute!
