1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Snack Swap 4 Gallery on: August 04, 2011 03:34:45 PM
Hi guys!

I recieved ages ago but due to major technical difficulties have been unable to post photos until now, so here we go!

Nerds!  My boyfriend was particularly pleased about these, he was obsessed with them.  so tasty!

Group photo!  We have twinkies, chocolate zingers, bubble gum, kool aid, reeses pieces and peanut butter cups (nom) crazy core skittles, moon pie, hot tamales and jolly ranchers and some beautiful, soft cuddly hand spun wool!

closeup for colour of the wool, this is the most accurate colour that I could get on the wool, I can't wait to knit it, i'll have to pick my pattern carefully.

Thank you so much Rhymesworange, my package was awesome!

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: I really need a friggin' crown (or other lofty headwear) swap gallery on: June 26, 2011 04:53:36 AM
Hi guys!

I'm gonna post pictures later on today, I took them days ago but they are on my boyfriends computer and he keeps forgetting to email me them, so I am just going to go round and upload them from his computer!

*EDIT!*

Got my hands on the pictures!  I can safely say I was spoiled rotten by Dopey_44, with not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous Tiaras.  Without further ado, onto the pictures!

The crown is a gorgeous lace with lovely sparkly beads on, its soo pretty!

The first Tiara is so beautiful, it makes me think of winter and christmassy stuff

Last but not least, this Tiara was inspired by a couple things on my etsy favourites list.  I absolutely adore peacock fethers and I've been wearing this one around the house a lot Cheesy

*GROUP SHOT!*

Also here are a few shots of the crown I sent to Dopey_44 as it got squished in the post! Sad Fear not I am planning on an even more awesome one to send in its place so bear with me! And this time I shall wrap it in copious amounts of bubble wrap and packing!

Posted on monday but forgot to post here :/ lol so excited to see everyones crowns!  I got so anxious when I posted it 'cause I couldn't work on it anymore so I always get really worried that its actually total rubbish and i've just been staring at it for long enough to convince myself that it actually looks like something someone would wear and not just a pile of mess and wire and bleh.  *breathe*

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Steampunk Nerf Gun Mod on: May 23, 2011 02:53:13 PM
I think it would be do-able without taking the gun apart but quite tricky, areas like underneath the trigger and underneath the pullback mechanism would be quite difficult but I imagine with some tape to hold them in place while you paint underneath you could probably get them done.  I'd definitley advocate taking apart a gun like the maverick and painting it in pieces however, as its not too hard to reassemble and it makes life a lot easier for painting.  It's really down to whatever you would feel more comfortable about doing it, and theres a lot of videos on youtube about how to take apart and reassemble the guns etc, but I imagine either way you'll be able to make a fab end product Cheesy

Thanks! The gun was pretty easy to take apart, just a few screws on one side of the gun, However you just have to watch for the innards springing out, I dunno if its quite common for that to happen but it's easy enough to put together again.  It happened to me which means this one is no longer functional as I lost a bit when it all sprang out Cry (just an excuse to buy a new one and try again!)  but providing all the bits on the inside stay the same the gun will be functional.  Also I would recommend keeping the paint away from the inside of the barrel where the nerf's go, as it takes aaages to dry and can cause problems with firing the nerfs as they get stuck in the barrel.

I can't wait to see your DH's spangly new Nerf gun!
