And here they are for all to see.....aren't they both just adorable? I can't wait to put them on a little one this winter.

KnitsyBitsy,

I've made lots of the handwarmers (though, using the Melanie Falick pattern from her book Weekend Knitting) for gifts and for myself. Everyone LOVES them....they're perfect for that in-between mittens and no mittens weather. And they're so cozy--I keep mine on in the house in the winter to stay extra warm.

Hey guys! I had to jump in here--I was so thrilled to see this thread and all your awesome tie skirts!

I made one of these in high school (um, 1990, I think it was) after seeing one in Sassy  Magazine (oh, I miss Sassy!). I raided my fathers and grandfathers' closets for funky ties and came up with this. I dug around my attic this weekend looking for it to post, and can't believe it actually still fits (okay, not really....but alteast enough for a photo!). Thanks for letting me share it!

Thank you SO much for sharing your creation, and the how-to! I've been admiring it since I first saw you post it, and now I can't wait to go dig through my felt stash and see what I can come up with.

Thanks!! And beautiful job!

Oh, thank you!!!

I used Green Mountain Spinnery Mountain Mohair. I didn't double the yarn, as the pattern called for--I think my gauge with that yarn was somewhat right on with the pattern. I figured since it was such a small toy, it wouldn't matter too much. Wink I think the inner ear yarn (pink) is Lopi Lite--there was just a tiny ball of it in my stash.

I finally finished my bunny! Amobabe, thanks so much for your help with that part I was stuck on. I thought it was a fun pattern to work on... (it better be, 'cause I've committed myself to making one more by Easter for my little one!).

Lani--your bear is adorable! So cute! And bravo to you for jumping into a big project like that after scarves and hats. Woo Hoo!!

I'm working on the bunny right now, and hope to finish tonight. It's coming out so cute! Now I want to make all the animals!
