2  Re: IK Dickinson Pullover KAL in Knitalongs by Nashira on: November 13, 2007 02:07:10 PM
Well.. it appears I'm in it alone for the time being... heheheh... maybe it should be re-dubbed a "Knit ALone" Wink

Anyways, here's some images of my progress... just in case I can entice someone to knit with me! Cheesy

Heh... sorry, in my excitement I forgot to mention which IK it's from (thanks knittinfiasco)... also I didn't add the photos as I couldn't find them on the website.. but your post made me look again and here they are!

I know what you mean about the photos though! The large photo they had in the mag wasn't all that flattering, but on seeing the sweater from some different angles I felt it looked like a much nicer fit. Looks like just the thing I would want to throw on and decorate the tree in... hopefully I'll have it done in time! Wink

4  Diamond and Smocked Baby Blanket **Updated** in Knitting: Completed Projects by Nashira on: March 22, 2006 03:22:05 PM
Hi everyone! It's the craziest thing.... I've posted things on Craftster before this, but never any of my knitting (which is my true love). So having realized that, I got out my trusty camera and decided to snap some pics of the baby blanket I finished for my closest friend. She's due in September.  Smiley

All began reasonably well....

I started out by taking some basic photos of it being modelled by my floor:

Got in all nice and close for the pattern money shot:

And well, apparently Jojo (my ever faithful sock monkey companion) didn't approve of my composition, as he decided to take matters into his own hands... err... paws..:

Oh Jojo.... he just can't resist teasing the ladies:

He left me alone long enough to get a shot of some baby socks I finished recently as well:

But not for long.... :

That's when I called off the shoot.... I mean, sheesh, the shots were supposed to be of a baby blanket, not a sultry sock monkey!! And besides, all that monkey business was giving me a headache!  Wink

***Update***

As I've gotten multiple requests for it, and I was naughty and hadn't posted it anywhere, here without further ado is the link to a printable pdf version of the pattern! Yayyyy!

Oh, and Jojo would like all his adorers to know he has not forgotten you on his way to being the monkey heart throb he has become.... he sends his love and monkey kisses to you all, and promises there will be a new photo shoot in the near future...

***Additional Update***

There's a KAL for this blankie, and I'd like to draw everyone's attention to it for help and inspiration in making their own! Hope to see you there... Smiley

5  Earring Storage in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Nashira on: January 03, 2006 04:02:46 PM
I've seen quite a few different designs on here, so I thought I'd contribute with my own. I actually made this about a year or so ago, but it's taken me a while to photograph it.

It's a vintage frame with metal mesh stapled to the back. Works beautifully, was increadibly easy to make, and looks awesome with the rest of my bathroom decor. Smiley

6  Dennis the Sock Monkey in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Nashira on: January 03, 2006 03:48:57 PM
I'd like you all to meet Dennis.

Here's a full length shot, for optimal argyle viewing

And here he is with his best bud Jojo Munkles (my first sock monkey ever)

I made him as a christmas present for my 2 yr old  nephew (who totally adores him). I think his exact words were "wow!....monkey!"

7  Mr. Jojo Munkles - My Sock Monkey (Updated: New Photos) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Nashira on: August 26, 2005 06:08:18 PM

I've been tooling around this website for a few months now, and I'm finally making myself post something. This is Jojo Munkles, my very lovely sock monkey friend. I made him from a $2 pair of man socks from the gap (I saw them and was instantly charged with the duty of making a monkey). He took me about a day of sewing, which I haven't done in years, and was worth every stitch.

This is the only photo I have of him so far. Sorry it's only of his torso - I'll try to get around to taking a full length so you can get the full monkey experience.

*Updated*
Here's some more photos of Mr.Munkles; I took two full length ones cause I thought his legs looked a little stumpy in the first one (and I don't want to give the poor guy a complex). The closeup was mandatory as Jojo is a ham when it comes to the camera. Smiley
