It would probably make more sense to post this on another thread, but I figured those who crochet would get a bigger kick out of it
I put together this hat as a project for my design class; I'm not quite nerdy enough to do something like this just for fun, hehe. The assignment was to create a hat that serves a funtion of some sort, and my instructor suggested that we base it on one of our interests. Naturally, the idea to create a hat to hold my crocheting supplies popped into my head right away.http://www.craftster.org/pictures/uploads/19827/dec02_004.jpg
The base is made from paper mache...basically I just made two bowls, glued them together, and painted them. I crocheted a little band to cover up the middle where they are glued together and I crocheted a chin strap to keep it on my head (which is mostly hidden under the hat). I drilled holes through the paper mache to hold my hooks and to pull a yarn end through so I can crochet while I'm wearing it, though I might look a little silly.
I received an A on it and he held onto it for a student art show at the end of the year
