1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Design Your Own Bag--along! on: January 15, 2007 11:59:50 AM
Is it too late to join in? If not then Hi! I am brandon and I love knitting and thought this would be a fast/fun/easier knit-a-long. I recently ventured into A.C.Moore for the first time, it's the only other craftstore besides walmart that is close to me...and when I say close I mean 1 1/2 hours away! But anyways, they had an ALL YARN 25% off sale and I went over board. I bought some Landscapes in the Raspberry Patch colorway, some moonlight mohair and some Caron Simply Soft Shadows in a green colorway. I am going to make my bag in the Caron and I am using a cabled pattern from the book - Knitting With Balls (very funny and practical) I am also going to use circs so yea I am happy to be here and should have progress pictures later today or tomorrow.

Great job! I just made an earflappy job myself, they're fun.

I have some of that yarn (in green) lying around my basement.

Indeed they are fun, when I was younger, I thought they looked stupid but now I love them Cheesy OOO i am in love with this yarn I'm sure the green is purty! Where did you get it?

Your hat looks great.

I use circulars now for everything I can get away with, scarves and other flat stuff, tubes, whatever.  If you use longer ones even when you do flat stuff it's a lot more comfortable, no more poking yourself or others with long needles!

The hard part of the kitty hat for me was picking up the stitches.  I kind of ending up doing something that didn't look like SnB directions but came out looking right.  Since it's picking up you can do it and tear it out until it looks right.

Good luck!

Wow, that's awesome advice, I have also gotten used to the circs Cheesy Thanks! Cheesy
