I'm so glad this is a craft you and your daughter can make together!  Happy card-making!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Something Fishy - IMAGE HEAVY on: November 20, 2009 07:07:37 PM
Wow, your wall paintings are amazing!  If I were in that room, I would spend the whole day looking at the walls instead of the computer!!  Cheesy  Extremely lifelike and creative!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Elegant Thanksgiving Card on: November 20, 2009 06:49:43 PM

I'm making this card for the many people I want to thank this Thanksgiving!!  I bought the beautiful shimmery gold circle scalloped cardstock from Paper Source, which makes this card fast to make.  You just need to cut out the turkey head silhouette and glue it onto the circle scalloped cardstock.

The whole turkey is then glued onto the card.  The detailed instructions are here.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
4  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: crafting for patients? on: November 16, 2009 06:52:06 PM
From my experience staying in the hospital, it is usually really cold in there.  Fuzzy warm socks and knit/fleece caps would be really nice for the kids.

For activities, maybe coloring books and crayons.

Also a note of encouragement to the patient and their caregivers is a nice touch.  Just knowing that other people care can really lift one's spirit!  Smiley
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Sticky Rice & Mango Pumpkins on: November 16, 2009 06:46:05 PM
That is such a cute way of presenting sticky rice and mango!!
6  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Peter pumpkin cupcake eater on: November 16, 2009 06:38:17 PM
Your pumpkin cupcakes are so cute, and I'm sure they were delicious too!  I wish I could make these cupcakes for the chemo patients I'm visiting on thanksgiving, but can't give food items to chemo patients because of their diet restrictions and low immune system.  So, the alternative is to make some pumpkin crafts for them instead!  Hope you're having fun making more cupcakes for the holiday season!
7  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Candy Sushi Anyone!? on: November 16, 2009 06:33:51 PM
Your candy sushi are adorable!  Dark colored fruit roll-ups would make it look like seaweed, although I think the multicolored fruit roll-ups make it really colorful and fun!  Great idea for a party!
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: My first teired cake! on: November 16, 2009 06:30:38 PM
It must be very satisfying to finish decorating a whole 3-tiered cake!  I hope you have fun decorating more cakes in the future!
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Know any projects for a too-smart-for-her-own-good 5 year old? on: November 14, 2009 04:34:20 PM
For an indoor project, it might be fun for her to make some tissue paper flowers!  I've had a lot of fun making these!  You can get really creative with these - trying different colors and making different flowers.  I think a 5-yr old who can knit would be more than able to make these flowers!  Smiley
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: my friend is in a coma and I want to make her something special but need ide on: November 14, 2009 04:26:30 PM
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend being in a coma  Sad  Yes, flowers that don't need any tending to is a good thing for someone in the hospital.  I've been making tissue paper flowers, and I like it alot!  You can make all sorts of different flowers and it's really easy to make too!  Hope your friend comes out of her coma and recovers soon!
