1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Coach inspired bag on: November 26, 2013 07:41:02 PM
I really liked the Coach Isabelle bag.. soooo.. tried to recreate it.. here are the results

My main goal in making this bag was to do the hidden vertical pocket. Without the zipper pulll, the pocket is completely hidden

Inside

And the coach bag for reference

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A couple faux leather projects on: March 14, 2013 07:14:52 PM
I just completed this clutch from a online tutorial and wanted to share

This is the tutorial used http://seekatesew.blogspot.ca/2013/02/envelope-clutch-pattern.html ..  I made some change.. the closure was my own and and a few other small things.

This is another bag I made last month with the same closure..  It is my own design and pattern

I'm really enjoying working with the faux leather although it can be a challenge for my machine.

Thanks for looking!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Diaper bag with removable clutch on: October 11, 2012 07:53:20 PM
Here's my latest bag.  Made for my mom to give as a baby shower gift, it's a diaper bag with a removable clutch.
Front - zipper pocket and removable clutch.

Back- zipper pocket and large pocket with magnetic clasp
Side - zipper pocket and large gusset pocket

Clutch -  this basics of the clutch were made using a tutorial right here on craftster.. The fasted lined bag.  I love this technique, so handy..

Clutch detached.

Inside was a zippered divider and several open pockets.

Top has has zippered "unrecessed" closure with a tail so it opens wide

This was based on my own pattern I drew up.  A LOT of work. The vinyl trimming made it a bit more of a challenge specially sewing the straps and then putting the lining an exterior together.. I was holding my breath at that point praying I didn't mess it up!  But it worked out.. phew!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / foldover bags on: September 25, 2012 02:18:09 PM
So I've been "into" making some foldover convertible bags, that can be carried with a handle or crossbody. Here are a a few I've made recently

Any comments welcome!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A few more bags on: December 07, 2011 08:48:34 PM
Finished up a few more purse for christmas gifts.

This is from the book Carry me. It uses an internal purse frame. Back of bag has a zippered pocket. I followed a tutorial from here to learn how to do the zippered pocket, but can't remember which tute it was.

Inside - I tried to add a zippered divider down the middle (not in the pattern), but made it too big, it was too late to fix.  It can just be pushed to one side.  One side of the inside has a zippered pocket, the other has two open pockets and pen pockets.

pleated clutch - from Vogue pattern.. love how this turned out.

Crossbody bag - This is from a Vogue pattern.  My interfacing caused a lot of wrinkles.. so annoying.  If I had more time I'd do it again

inside - has a zippered pocket on one side and 2 open pockets and pen slips on the other.

this one is made from a placemat. I'm not too happy with how it turned out, it's was simple to do but made some mistakes. It's for my SIL who is having a baby any day now, thinking she can use it as a diaper clutch. It has a zippered pocket on the back and a magnetic closure. Used this tutorial -  lined pouch  and added the zippered pocket to outside first.
