21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Quilt Block Swap Round 6 Gallery on: August 17, 2014 07:24:07 AM
I cut out all the fabric for the ribbon stars. Now I'm on a break. Cheesy we've got this funny weather now where it's too warm to keep the windows closed, but so cold the floor is now super cold. And the ironing is making me really hot. So.. Top half. Burning. Lower half. Freezing. Middle... Not bad!

This is one of the fabrics I'm using, a tiny bit of red fuzz just placed itself perfectly like this, and I thought it made a funny face, especially compared to the rest Cheesy

Today I picked out all the fabrics for cursive_queen, then I went to bed and fell asleep Cheesy got a bit of a cold going, so I'm not very productive. But I better be well by morning, because we've planned a trip to the wool fair, and I'm driving!

I might actually not have to buy any fabric for this round, which is a first. But I have to head for some online stores for ... Quilt... Outline... Thing... English fails me when I'm tired, you know that bit yo frame with that isn't as far out as binding? Yeah... That stuff. Need it. Apparently local stores don't sell white on white fabrics this season.

My biggest issues is the fact I enjoy sooooo many different crafts!

Me too, tbh Sad Though for me, the worst thing is when you haven't done something in so long you're starting to get a hard time justifying keeping the mats for it, in spite of the lack of space! >_> (or like now when I aaalmost finished a huge tiered planter only to have the store stop selling the type of screws I need, so I have a huge tiered planter project covering a large part of my balcony... stupid stores no longer selling the mats I need)

You'd understand just how pathetic my addictions are (paper crafting supplies too) if you could see my craft room. My father was a hoarder in his latter years so I'm blaming him for the addictive inheritance, but the decision to overcome that personality is mine. And it would certainly help if JoAnns didn't keep sending me all those coupons! Grin

Ah, don't worry about it Grin

Pine-Sol is a strong, pine-scented cleaner, so any similar brand ought to work. Similar products with different names wouldn't be bad. What I hate are products with the same name, but totally different formulas. Learned that the hard way when I bought a Sprite in Rome. I was so thirsty that day, but I took one swallow and almost split it out. Nothing like our US version. Undecided

Actually, you use almost exactly the same recipe for sprite no matter where you go. The main ingredient difference is whether you're allowed to use corn syrup (you can in the US) or "real" sugar (like most of europe does, probably more common everywhere else than in the US).

The flavor difference, however, usually comes from the local water. I remember when I was in Florida in the 90's, I couldn't drink coke from a bottle, because they were made locally and full of chlorine. The cans, however, were made somewhere else (Alaska main factory or something?) and didn't have chlorinated water. Cheesy

If I find the time around lunch, I'm going out to buy fabric for edging and backing of my quilt from the last swap! Then I just have to send it to a long-arm-quilter, because they've finally started popping up here. Cheesy
