212  Secrecy, digital, for private swap with Kaos in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Melladh on: February 13, 2007 11:14:41 AM
Doing a private ATC swap with Kaos as practice run, since I'm new to ATC swapping. This is my fifth card ever made or so, digital using photoshop.

213  It Got Away in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Melladh on: February 09, 2007 03:12:07 AM

Poser 5 (6?) and Vue 5
I'm a noob, it's basically just presets and positioning, but I spent some time on it and I think it turned out kinda cute hehe

(kind of a huge pic, didn't have time to resize for here.. rightclick on it and choose "view image" or whatever it says to see it full view Smiley )

214  Re: How do you organize your ephemera? in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Melladh on: February 08, 2007 12:59:00 AM
I put my stuff in old chocolate praline boxes. Square, sturdy, stack well... Wink
Other than that I'm storing most of my papercraft supplies (and some quilting tools...) in one of these

(not that color though.. Roll Eyes )

It's on wheels, so it's easy to turn to access all four sides... there's magazine holders in the back, three "shelves" on one side, three drawers in the front and the big space under them has a shelf thingy you can attach to divide it... The metal bar thingy comes with four loose hooks you can hang on it if you want - I use it for my cutting mat Smiley Since my papers aren't overly huge, I put them on the two "shelves" under the drawers, and my glues and suchlike on the shelves on the side. The drawers are dedicated to buttons and photocorners and my scrapbook project which I was supposed to have finished three years ago...  Embarrassed

215  "Sharing the girlfriend's interests", or: "Getting boyfriend back into art" in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Melladh on: January 11, 2007 12:31:36 PM
I was having a bad day so boyfriend said he'd accompany me in making ATC's. He's very artistic (photomanips), but he hasn't been at it for years, and I've been prodding him now and then about how it would have been so fun if he shared my interests... Wink So he put "sharing the girlfriend's interests" as the theme for his card, even though math is the real theme!

This is what we created today.

Pie, by Zaare (boyfriend)

I may be biased, but I adore his card, and I've claimed it as mine Grin

Fish, by Melladh (me)

(the fishies are these mini erasers that, luckily enough, have the image all the way through, so I can get an amazing amount of fish Shocked )

He said it was really nice to make, and he enjoyed how it wasn't a big project but still satisfying. So cheer him on so he'll make more! Cheesy

216  Re: Help - not a great artist in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by Melladh on: December 10, 2006 01:28:16 PM
This is sort of what I mean, I added a mouth too but I don't know about that.. (just an  ms-paint scetchwork to show my point, so my lines suck)

and my bad scetch means he has one front tooth instead of a side one heh... but it's just a basic... illustration from my behalf

and I do like the curves - just because a game is limited to jagged lines, that doesn't mean that the actual representation needs to be.

217  Re: SCAVENGER HUNT ATC Cards. What can YOU do with these materials? in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Melladh on: December 01, 2006 12:22:24 PM
Oh so fun to see... I especially love the party, the share, the amour and the peace Cheesy

My contribution. Red rain. Second ATC ever made.

The aluminum foil (we use that like you use tin foil) didn't turn out as leafy as I'd hoped, but my patience rarely lives up to the height of my ideas Wink
Not too disappointed with the brown paper bag tree Grin though bathing it in glue was very sticky! however, I did not have to use any string as I'd feared at first Smiley Going to have to do my other idea tomorrow I think Smiley

218  Re: Largest Craftster ATC swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Melladh on: November 23, 2006 08:27:40 AM
I just received one of the greatest ATC's ever, from CraftyZary Smiley It's just so... perfect! Perfect for ME even! This is my first ATC experience, and it feels great Cheesy

She even threw in these awesome buttons!

I'm utterly in love. The scanner does the colors justice I feel, but not the lovely 3d-feeling of the buttons and the scissors, and... *swoon*

(I keep getting SQL errors from the craftster picture hosting though, so I'm sad to say this image might not be here for more than a couple of months)

219  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by Melladh on: November 19, 2006 02:23:10 PM

flash vs no flash

Almost done with the increase! Cheesy I gotta say I love working with Debbie Bliss Maya, even though it's demanding I go to metal needles instead of wooden (it gets stuck because I knit too tightly)
And about done with my first skein... I have no idea how much yarn the rest of the project demands. Do you think a total of four skeins is enough if the increase bit takes one skein?

220  Re: "Fetching" from Knitty: Summer 2006 in Knitalongs by Melladh on: October 16, 2006 06:01:03 PM
My first ones, in Falkgarn Sport, a sock yarn wool blend... blues and purples

And I'm currently working on a pair as my mom's birthday present, in Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk

photo doesn't do it justice, it's not as fuzzy/unclear around the cables, and the color is more crisp...
and oh man is this an incredible feel on your skin! it's really pleasant to work with (imo)

and I'm impressed with how speedy this pattern is
