you have to direct link to the image.. don't know if that place allows it, but I'm trying in an attempt to help Smiley

(hihihi it did... atleast here.. right click your image and chose "properties" and copy the image location.. not the album location.. to place between the img-tags)

So many dilemmas Cheesy
it's late, so I'm online on the server, and the letter between y and i on the keyboard doesn't work - bare with the spelling!

I'm trying to think of something my lovey might like knitted... biggest problem is that he doesn't need anything.
1. He doesn't like sporting team colors like that
2. He'd love wearing school colors if it wasn't that the Royal Institvte of Technology has royal blve and white colors, and he doesn't like anything in vibrant or bright colors Roll Eyes Bvt if any of yov are brilliant enovgh to knit a scarf with the school logo in gray and white, he might like that Smiley Not certain thovgh...
Hm, I may be able to ask him withovt him getting svspiciovs XD 'Cavse I've interviewed him so mvch lately anywaysm saying I want to organize my ideas abovt what to make him, and so on Roll Eyes

Difficvlt Smiley

This is ovr school logo btw

KTH is Kvngliga Tekniska Hgskolan (royal institvte of technology) and below is the motto (slogan Roll Eyes ) Vetenskap och Konst - Science and Art.
Don't know if it might be a bit rich Undecided
I can "pixelate" it into sqvares if that wovld help... Bvt we don't even know if I'll wind vp with a knitter Smiley Jvst thinking ovt lovd (and it's oh so late I'm gonna go to bed so yov'll be rid of me and my servers keyboard Wink )

Yup! I just got around to make the cookies melmelon had sent to planet5, according to the recipie posted... Had to wing it 'cause it can be difficult to translate some things, but it worked out well.
They're divine! And incredibly strong - with the cocoa and black chocolate I used (according to my guesswork) one cookie is strong and chocolaty enough to give you seizures lol. Don't know how they managed to get magnified like that though, 'cause I don't react to common 99% chocolate bars Smiley Maybe it's the sugar Wink but they don't taste very sweet, but that might be 'cause of the salt...

'nuf rambling about the cookies, just wanted to say that everyone has to try 'em out XD

214  Re: Reading is Sexy Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Melladh on: September 08, 2005 12:49:22 AM
I managed to find some decent photos of what I sent to razberry, but the ones of the bag sucks unfortunately... velvet is hard to photo in a dark room at night Cheesy

Anyway, here are the frames (photosized)

There's actually among others an article about what books we bother to translate into our own language Smiley

A tatted bookmark, about oh.. three, maybe four inches from tip to tip (can't remember exactly)

It's the worst background, I know, but it was the only one where the whole bookmark was showing.. but it does obscure the black middle, lying on the black text of the bag  Undecided

Sexy mini binder

(it's a bit scewed - it's really not as wide as it is tall..)

And here's my lovey modelling the bag Cheesy

It's got green lining, but I don't have a good pic of that..

And here's a bad pic of the pockets of the bag

It's books, if you can't tell from the pic Wink

I broke a ton of needles on that bag, 'cause the velvet is really massive Roll Eyes

Always feel a bit silly posting a massive amount of pics of what I made in a swap, but I always take pics one by one as I finish, so I never have any decent "here's everything" shots Roll Eyes

215  Re: Name tattoos...bad idea? in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by Melladh on: September 02, 2005 07:47:23 AM
I have a small tat of my partners name (well, kinda ex-partner now - LONG story!) on my lower back. It's right above my daughters name.. here's the thing... firstly it's not in english, actually not in a language that many people can read, so it's not totally obvious, secondly when I got it I knew that if we ever broke up he is still the father of my child and therefore and important part of my life. I still love that tattoo!

sorry about it looking a bit crappy, and not healed, this was taken when it was first done (a few years back)

I like that language Cheesy It's really beautiful too, I love your tattoo; I always thought that a name is better covered like that, or like the R ParanoidEv has.
But other than that, I'm very strict about "never ever get a tattoo if you don't feel that you really want it". (yeah, I don't have any tattoos - my mom is strictly against it, and it rubbed off enough to make me cautious, but I still adore seing tattoos on others..)

216  Randomness from a newbie crocheter in Crochet: Completed Projects by Melladh on: September 02, 2005 05:06:33 AM
First up I made two wrist warmers in spring, I just haven't posted them before (I think..)

boyfriend modelling, I made them for him
I'm utterly in love with that yarn. HP Cocoon. I made a couple for myself that became too wide and I'll have to redo them, but now I can't find them!  Angry

Mainly I just wanted to post 'cause I grew so fond of the stitch marker I made for trying out this six sided granny square
My result and the stitch marker!

The stitch marker is a creol earring I decorated. I can't wear creol but they sell 8-packs pretty cheap at the craft store here. Wish I COULD wear it, 'cause I think it turned out pretty cute Cheesy
(it looks more gently silvery in real life, not as lifelessly iron)

I'm most comfortable holding my hook "like a knife" when I do the six sided squares, but my elbow keeps going CRACK at the twist of the hook when I do. Doesn't hurt yet, but... Problem is I get so horridly tired when I hold the hook like a pen...

Batteries! Weee!

So, as I promised - an update. Here are the tags that I didn't have a proper pic of

And the glowies!

As you might see, it would seem I have colorful pixies in the size of a pixel. Or the lense on the camera is dusty. Whichever you wish.

The daylight photo of the fab coasters are on this post

thank you! Cheesy

oh, and I forgot to add: This is what I bought the foam for in the first place, sort of:

made these for the discworld swap
I figured that most coasters have a foam bottom to make them not slide, so why not make foam stencils and glue to the bottom of glass coasters Smiley Only now I have a LOAD of foam and no glass coasters Roll Eyes (they're expensive, and it's no use only making two..)

ParanoidEv... I know this is kinda sudden, but... *kneels* will you marry me? I know you live like two countries over, and I have a boyfriend and maybe you do to, but we can make it work!!!

I recieved the first package today (well duh..) and was totally blown away. Unfortunantly our last batteries died so I only got the chance to take a poor "general" picture, which I then cut into pieces so you can still see kinda good pictures of the marvels Smiley Not great pictures though, 'cause, well, this camera doesn't work well with darker semi-natural light

Sort of an altoid tin, with marbled paper decoupaged on I believe Smiley

Tags. A very bad picture. There are several tags of fabric encased in plastic, really pretty Smiley

Very nice beaded stars Cheesy

And finally my biggest crush:

This is just so brilliant. Now I understand Carina's "so creative" reaction, though this is a billion times better than anything I made Shocked 'Cause I mean it's totally awesome in itself, but even more amazing since it's made from all the stuff I had and didn't know what to do with Smiley
I'm totally in love with this. And I'm so amazed by the smooth and firm coating! how'd you do that? Spraypaint? What paint?
Unfortunantly some of the beads fell off but I'm gluing them back now Smiley

There was also this awesome necklace but I was wearing it at the time I took the few photos I got  Roll Eyes
I love the necklace as well. I'm gonna take a picture of it as soon as I get some batteries!

220  Re: SCANDINAVIANS in SCANDINAVIAN/NORDIC by Melladh on: August 26, 2005 04:39:58 AM
Wouldn't it work with regular ol' varnish for furniture, you guys think? Really!?
In my experience everything works with varnish. Hm. But then again - I'm quite unexperienced.
Heh heh.

Well, problem is that inkjet bleeds Smiley A LOT. It just doesn't bleed as much when you're using Royal Coat.
Examples:

The red font is a bit smudgy to begin with Wink that's not the decoupagings fault

And here's a link which I don't know how long it'll be avalible, but... I made this for the "craft my junk" swap, with decoupage
http://crushinator.melladh.com/M/bilder/craft_my_junk/cigarbox_with_girl.JPG
(the entire thing is a printout, but I "varnished" it on with decoupage, and covered it to save it)
As you can see the hair is a tiny bit brighter where I got a big drop of decoupage that I didn't bother spreading out, and you can see some tiny pink smudges next to the flowers...
(the uneven coloration of the girl is due to the printed image though, not the decoupaging)
But if you try putting something a bit alcoholic (common strong glues and varnishes) or just a drop of water, on an unprotected inkjet print, you'll see the ink bleed.
But you can always try the wallpaper glue separatly and see what it does. Smiley
