Sorry for the awful pic. Couldn't get the autofocus on my camera to work.
I have this old pair of earrings that I really like. I've started making earrings of my own, so I want to know where I can get more of the long rectangular pendant thingies (descriptive, I know). Does anyone know of an online store that sells something similar? Or maybe if there's a special name for them--I don't really know what to search for. I've been trying "silver rectangle pendant" with no results.
As you can see, it's a little rectangular bar, silver in color and with a swirly pattern stamped on it. It's about an inch and a half long.
This is from the all-day tote pattern (I believe. Too lazy to look it up) in Lotta Lansdotter's Simple Sewing. It was a really easy pattern to follow, I had a good time with it and hardly had to rip out any seams (BIG accomplishment for me).
Sorry 'bout the messy room. And yeah, I have Dove deodorant labels on my filing cabinet. What of it?
I have eleven cigar boxes (some wood, some cardboard):
And a pretty big mint collection (Altoids, Tic Tacs, mints from various countries and the like):
I want to use the cigar boxes to display the mints, but I'm not exactly sure how. Hang the boxes on the wall and kind of use them as shadow boxes? They don't open all the way, but I guess I could remove the hinges. Somehow hang them off of something? This is the first time I've done something like that, and I'm kind of clueless, so any hints or tips you could provide would be appreciated.
I love my mint collection, but I don't want it to just be in boxes on top of my bookcases anymore. HELP!
A long-dead relative made this crochet piece, and I just love it, but I have absolutely no clue how to replicate it. As you can see, it sort of looks like coral (or brain matter ). Anyways, if anyone knows A) how to do this or B) a name for the technique used, so I can do a bit of research, I'd really appreciate it. I have no clue where even to begin looking! I'm 90% sure it's crochet.
This is my first knitting project, my first felting project, and my second purse project (the first was a jordy bag). I screwed up on the handle, it's lopsided, and I'm not at all sure how much weight this baby can handle, but all in all I'd say it was a successful experiment! I love the lining, and I'm looking forward to (hopefully) getting better at all this. I wasn't sure whether to put this in the knitting board or the purse board, but settled on the latter (obviously).
I have a pretty big mint collection (pictured below) that's just kinda sitting in my room taking up space. Lots of foreign mints and tic tacs, many mint tins. Here's a pic that shows part of the mint collection--the clear container and the grey one behind it are full of mints, as well as some other containers not pictured. Just so you can get an idea of the size.
So, here's my question. I want to do something with these, maybe display them in a way that I could decorate my room as well. I have some wooden trays that I was going to paint and put some of them on, but my painting skills are approximately nil, so they came out looking pretty bad. Is there any way I can turn my mint collection into something decorative, maybe even useful? Thanks so much for your help!
