Starlene, about the zippers. I manage to put them in ok, but as soon as i sew the bag together and turn it out (the sides) the zipper sits funny at the end. I dont know if you can really see properly but it happenened with the first bag on the end where the zip (handle, would you call it? oh gawd i am dumb ) is it doesnt turn out properly... As you can see in the second picture. The side isnt straight, the top part is on a funny angle. maybe i am sewing too close to the zip?? Any help would be great! Cause i seem to do it EVERY time i put a zip in a bag!!
Here is some wristlets that i made tonight and a coin purse i made yesterday! (Yes i have been a busy bee, they are quite quick to do tho... but anyways, on with the bags!)
Wristlet one: Bone white with 3 different circles of pink and floral on the front
Inside of Wristlet one: with same floral print as on the front
Wristlet two: Denim outer with 3 circles also (ok i was in a circle mood tonight) which are red and grey. This is my first go at a wristlet and i think the handle is a tad long, but s'all cool baby! If you look at them too much it makes your eyes go funny. haha (thats all i need at night, crazy eyes )
Inside of wristlet two: with a plain black lining
Coin purse with 2 hearts (pretty self explanitory, this was the first one i tried, so i dont think its as good as the others...
Thankyou for looking! Any feed back would as always be unreal! And if anyone has any tips for the ends of zippers (everytime i make a bag with a zipper the top corners sit really odd. I dont know what i am doing wrong!??)
kkiinnkkyy, sorry i havent replied to your question... I have actually been busy making things (i usually seem to just enjoy looking at things on this site and dream about what i can make next, LOL). Um no i havent found any good places yet. I am a bit lazy when it comes to looking, but i have heard there are a few good places along Chappel, I could be wrong, i am just telling what i have heard from friends! Let me know if you do tho! (wouldnt it be funny if we have seen each other at spotlight?) everytime i go i look around and it seems like i am the only young person in there, just lots of grannys looking for material to make stuff for their grandkids.
Why is it (it could just be me) but out of all my friends i am the only one who is crafty and likes to make stuff and talk about it! *Sigh* I would LOVE IT if one day all the melbourne crafters could meet up and show our stuff get ideas and just chat. I have no idea where we could do it, but i recon it would be a blast!
All i can say is "You go girl!" These bags are really cute! I just loved your comment you mentioned about the girl in your homeroom! Cause that is so me! haha! Well done! I just love that 'Vegas' one, for some reason i am just in love with sparkily things lately!
I am also from Melb, Right near Southland shopping centre. I am yet to find a great craft shop, and like everyone else i am going to definately have to go to Brunswick. I have been going to Spotlight alot, but i miss Darn cheap fabrics (i used to live the street behind, man that was fun, id be bored go for a walk and inevetibly end up there buying fabric, haha). This is a great thread! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get some designer fabric! I will have to go one day! I have a question for Ebay store owners... How do you do on there!? Cause i am thinking of opening a store eventually (when i pull my finger out and finish some bags, i am totally fabulous at starting stuff and not finishing it, but i do have a 6month old... haha that is my excuse and i am sticking to it). Do you sell much stuff on ebay? Any info anyone has about it would be so appreciated! Cheers Tails
OMG girl! Those bags are unreal, but i have to say you have totally outdone yourself on that messenger bag! It is FANTABULOUS! I see you have some sort of tags, what do they stand for? AM or AMO? I would so love to know how you made that messenger bag but i am guessing it took awhile (or not, you do make fab bags so you could have made it really quick). I am so loving your work hun! WAY TO GO!
