I received from slovakiasteph today, and I love everything!!
First up, my very own Red Dwarf shirt!! Awesome job on it - looks very slick.

Next a Rimmer holo-hat. Perfect fit and I love that it's reversible too (for when I'm in the Ace universe)!!
Finally a couple of really cute magnets - Lister's robo-goldfish and the Black Knight from Monty Python.

All great choices and colours - thanks for an awesome package!!

Yay, got my package from missing_muse today! The brown T is my fave - who doesn't love killer robots!?! M.O.N.T.E.! With long sleeve extensions for cold Canuck winters. Green T has a neat design and one of my fave sayings too. Plus some nummie nummies.

Thanks MM!

Hee hee... my package from Myrdda arrived and it's smashing!!
Started off with some fun packaging with cool facts and an invitation into mischief (The answer is yes. It just may take a while to build but we'll definitely have the element of surprise on our side!). Ok, so defying my instincts, I opened the packages inside in the labeled order.
Package 1 was an adorable 10th Doctor in spiffy blue suit. He's so cute!!! Like a South Park baby (don't worry, I won't kick the baby, though he's the perfect weight to toss gently about a little, I couldn't resist - it's so much fun).

Package 2 was a handy CD tin with a gorgeous timelord seal! Very slick and very handy!
Inside were cute magnetic beertops with a mysterious warning that are now on my fridge.

Package 3 was a set of cushion covers - fit great (and I needed some) and one has an awesome Tardis on it. (And no, I won't put it away when company is over)

Package 4 was a non-Dr.Who bonus item, and it rocks!! It's a T-shirt from Serenity/Firefly - one of my other all time favorite shows and from my wist! All cotton too : )

Thanks for an awesome package Myrdda - will have tons of fun with all the stuff - great choices!
Cheers,
TheFett

I met up with Ryn - yay - got some Tardis repairs done and got my last item - K9 (triple yay!!!).
He's so cute... he'll keep me company while I watch the Xmas Dr.Who!

Thanks Ryn & nice meeting you. Happy Holidays everyone!
Cheers,

Wuhoo, I got the first part of my set from Ryn today (we're doing the last item later when we meet up for clock repair but I thought you would like a peek).
Started with some sweet Whovian art on the package... Dalek, Cyberman, Are you my mummy?

This was my first look inside, including a bonus - Wolverine with very cool extending claw feature!

First thing I checked was the tie... unrolled to find a pretty Tardis with blinky LED light on top!!

Then I turned over the box... and found it was a time machine too! It has a bonus that it holds stuff (I need places for stuff, like my Time Lord identity) and even came with Jelly Babies!! Which is awesome as I've been looking for them and closest I'd found so far were Jelly Tots. The clock doesn't seem to work 100%, but that's amusingly fitting for a Chameleon Arch. I also got a very cool looking Tardis key - I know that'll come in handy someday!

Next was a journal... great for time travel logs and documenting my impossible things! I love the clever DW logo!!

Thanks Ryn!

Wuhoo - my package from Felis came in today!! Here's the lot as I started opening...
Right from the get go I got a great surprise - bonus gift - Dr.Who comics! I didn't even know they exist. So cool!!

Next was a workout shirt with a great logo - Powered By Infinite Improbability Drive.  (Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy)
I love it - great colour and perfect slogan for a jog! (though I'll have to head to the gym before I'm ready to model it here).

After that I got a sweet brain slug (Futurama). It's so cool and the bendy antennas were an awesome touch! It came with note from the Spleef Tourism board to put it on my head immediately so I did. I feel a little sleepy now. I used it in a MIB (Men In Brown - steampunk version of Men In Black) so added a few accessories to it so it could join the team.

And of course, the awesome Jayne hat!! (Serenity/Firefly) Hee heee! The note that came with it from Ma Cobb was adorable!

Vera and I think it's shiny!! Now I can walk down the street and people will know I'm not afraid of anything.
Thanks for everything!!!

18  3D Tic Tac Toe in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by thefett on: February 19, 2010 09:27:32 AM
My mom wanted one so I used the stained glass soldering technique to make it. I carved notches in the glass for the marble locations.
Clear (starlike) marbles vs. opaque marbles. To play fair, don't use the middle spot.

19  Recycled Toddler Toy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thefett on: December 08, 2009 10:23:07 AM
I made this piece out of recycled stuff for my nephew. The picture frame is an old one, the wire I found, the plumbing wasn't needed anymore. I bent and threaded the wire, added some wooden bobbles (bought, I don't have a lathe so couldn't match that quality) and bolted them down. The other side of the bolt is covered with more leftover wood to prevent scratching a table.

20  Recycled tables in Completed Projects by thefett on: November 19, 2009 09:55:55 AM
I've recovered wood folks have thrown out and turned it back into furniture. These tables are small enough you can make them from almost any scraps. The top and bottom don't even need to be from the same thickness of wood. Textured paint helped hide any scratches or dents in the wood. You can let your creativity loose for the supports.

The larger one was made from a fridge sized box/crate. The wood's an ugly particle board, but add a dark coat of paint and it looks fine. I eventually added metal trim to the edges to make them look cleaner though. The look was inspired from plane wings and submarine towers. It's strong enough to support a full pitcher of water at the wingtips.
