1  Re: Knitty's Danica in Knitalongs by swampy on: December 29, 2007 03:51:01 PM
I started this just before Christmas, (like I needed another project between this and the Olive Branch Hoodie, Tapestry's Rye, and a random scarf),  and it isn't as hard as I thought.  I'm going to hate weaving in all those ends, though.  I HAD to pick up 4 skeins of SWS today (in natural earth).  Thanks everyone!

oh, ps-
This is with Lamb's pride worsted in silver grey, onyx, and red on size 8 needles.

2  Anyone want to try Rowan Tapestry? in Knitalongs by swampy on: November 04, 2007 12:46:46 PM
This is Foxtail from the Rowan tapestry collection.  I just cast this on today.  I was going to start the Olive branch hoodie, but this won out.

Interested?

5  baby booties (on the baby)! in Knitting: Completed Projects by swampy on: September 13, 2005 03:38:31 PM
hi,

wanted to post these as a finished project.  i made 2 sets for friends.  isn't it cute?

i would've posted the item under the recent topic, but couldn't find it!

these are UGG baby booties and hat from DIY network.

yep...they're too big, but the girl is only 8 weeks old, and it is only Sept.  She'll grow into them (crossing my fingers).

6  see what my husband made! in Beads: Completed Projects by swampy on: September 05, 2005 06:35:54 AM
hi,
first time on the beading board.  normally i only post in knitting, but i had to show off some gifts that my husband made for me.  we went to the beach, and we girls normally bring a crafty project.  this year it was beading.

it was fun to see all the guys enjoy the beading even more than the girls.  they were obsessed!

husband says that he has now retired from beading now that we are home!

7  Don't try this at home :( in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by swampy on: August 03, 2005 06:40:26 PM
A lesson about the importance of dye lot.

This is a seed stitch scarf made with a really pretty yarn called Plain and Fancy from the Sheep and Wool co. (or something like that).

It was a good buy...each skein is over 400 yds.

One skein in, I realized I didn't have enough, and needed another.  Hence the dilemma.  The second skein is from a different dye lot.  Check it out.  To frog or not to frog?  What do you think?  I hate to do it, but it seems like there's no alternative.  On the plus side, I can use the 2 new skeins to make the scarf, and the old darker skein to make a 'matching' hat.  Sympathy?

8  Re: Yarnholic Seeking to Start a Support Group in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by swampy on: July 09, 2005 03:33:34 PM
this project has been posted before, but here it is again....i imagine it would be a stash buster.  lots of different colors and little stripes would be cool.  it's a lionbrand pattern...and except for the beginning, could be used for someone who is new to knitting.

not that i should be posting about stash-busting.  my husband commented today that he's found yarn in EVERY room in our house.  i need to inventory, and i will not buy any more (after the 3 skeins i have that are on order)...lol....

10  my hoodie! in Knitting: Completed Projects by swampy on: February 28, 2005 12:20:43 PM
i'm so happy to have this done!  (except for the blocking)...  the edges are curling, although i made the ribbing on the bottom twice as wide as the pattern called for.

it was a long project (took 3 weeks), but i really like it.

it was much easier then i was expecting, despite my pocket apprehension!  this is my first time putting a sweater together from pieces.  it wasn't too bad.
