1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Poly clay mosaic on: February 22, 2006 07:56:17 PM
Thank you for all the nice comments.  I was frightened of someone saying, 'what the hell for?' but its inspiring to hear good things.  My husband said he liked it too, but then again, he sort of has to, right?  Anyway, thanks again.
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Does anybody knw how to make coffee gounds "rocks"? on: August 31, 2005 07:44:29 PM
This sounds gross but there is a way of making these cool looking rocks out of coffee grinds and other ingredients.  These rocks can be made with treasures inside, like pirate bounty fake jewels etc.  I saw it done for a kid's birthday party.  The "rocks" are easy to tear open to get the treasure inside.  Anybody have any idea?
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: I Wanna Mosaic! on: May 30, 2005 07:02:12 PM
I just started mosaics too.  I don't know if you're interested in books but there's a book by Georrge Shannon and Pat Torlen called "Marvelous Mosaics" and its been really helpful to me.  I saw a yardsale in the paper where the women was selling of all her stained glass supplies and I picked up nippers, grozers etc.  But the best thing was these boxes of scrap glass-tons of it- for $2.00  Opaque glass looks great in mosaics!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Quick question about stained glass paint on: May 30, 2005 06:47:08 PM
I didn't transfer the pattern.  I just taped it to the opposite side of the window.
