1  Embroidered western shirt. in Needlework: Completed Projects by loisgriffin on: December 02, 2009 05:17:32 PM
This may or may not be done..  I may add something to the back, but have 2 more shirts to do before I even think about adding to the backs of them.  LOL.

My husband is in an alt country band, and this is one of my Homemade Christmas projects.   He is going to FLIP out.  He has always wanted a swallow tat, and has a sailor jerry clipper ship on his arm so its totally his style.

I know I could have ironed the shirt (which I got at Savers - a thrift store) but I was too excited to just get the pic taken.  LOL

Without further ado...  my very first embroidery project!

Any ideas for the back would be greatly appreciated.

2  One of my favorite yard sale finds ever... in Vintage Craft Projects by loisgriffin on: November 16, 2009 04:29:10 PM
I bought this set before I was even married.  I knew it would hang in my children (to be)'s room.  Well it hangs in their corner of the living room seven years later.  The back says "Love Grammie English 1975"  One mans trash, is definitely my treasure.  I have thought about re-framing so they all match, but never really gotten around to it.

3  My wild things - Mostly upcycled. in Halloween Costumes by loisgriffin on: November 03, 2009 11:36:38 AM
Holy crap. I just found this site, as we have committed to a 98% homemade Christmas and I am looking for ideas, so I might as well enter my costumes Smiley

Max was a kitten costume that I doctored up.
Moishe was a paper maiche mask, fur was from 2 trick or treat bags we had, technically felt is made from recycled water bottles, eyes were made from a ball I cut in half, and nose was newspaper.  Shirt was sewn by me, that fleece is the only thing I purchased.  Pants were scraps and I drew the scales on.  Both boys tails were from the same trick or treat bags (they were black cats)
