Thanks everyone! It has been so much fun to see people's reaction to this costume. I might have to break it out again so she can wear it to Thanksgiving dinner. We did have several people think she was a turkey while we were out trick or treating.
For Halloween this year my daughter went as a "pile of leaves". I used a "flower girl" style dress I found at a thrift store for the base and then covered the whole thing in fake leaves attaching them with lots of hot glue. The fan style back is made from fairy wings that had been cut in half and repositioned to create a fan effect. While the dress was simple to create it was very time consuming. I'm also pretty sure I have no finger prints left after burning them off from excessive hot glue use. Such is the life of a crafter, right?
For my son I created a "Finn" costume. (FYI, Finn is the main character from a cartoon called "Adventure Time".) I am only entering the "pile of leaves" costume in this challenge, but I had to show of his costume as well. The backpack is made from felt and hot glue. The rest of the costume pieces were purchased.
Thanks for the love everyone! I was shocked when I logged on and saw that we had made it into the "hot new project" area. I read all your comments to the miniature Paul McCartney and he was bouncing all over the couch with excitement.
