1  "Pile of leaves" infant costume in Halloween Costumes by RikkiTikki on: November 04, 2012 02:49:07 PM
For Halloween this year my daughter went as a "pile of leaves". I used a "flower girl" style dress I found at a thrift store for the base and then covered the whole thing in fake leaves attaching them with lots of hot glue. The fan style back is made from fairy wings that had been cut in half and repositioned to create a fan effect. While the dress was simple to create it was very time consuming. I'm also pretty sure I have no finger prints left after burning them off from excessive hot glue use. Such is the life of a crafter, right? Smiley

For my son I created a "Finn" costume. (FYI, Finn is the main character from a cartoon called "Adventure Time".) I am only entering the "pile of leaves" costume in this challenge, but I had to show of his costume as well. Smiley The backpack is made from felt and hot glue. The rest of the costume pieces were purchased.

2  The worlds smallest Paul McCartney in Halloween Costumes by RikkiTikki on: November 02, 2009 09:46:55 AM
My 4yr old son, Dane, loves the Beatles so for Halloween we sent him out as Paul McCartney.  We made him a Beatles suit using the pattern pictured below.  We also tried our best to recreate one of Paul McCartney's guitars.  Our original plan was to recreate his Hofner bass but it just wasn't turning out as well as we had hoped.  The one we ended up with is just a cheap little kid guitar from Toys R Us that we added a black pick guard to.  I'm beyond pleased with how everything turned out.  I was even more pleased with how many people knew who he was supposed to be!

Anyway, on with the show! Smiley

It's okay to swoon a little ladies Smiley

We had a blast running around the back alleys of our area looking for spots to take the perfect Beatles style photo shoot pics.

Here is the pattern we used:

We got it off Etsy.  Its an original from 1969.

And of course here is one of the many many Paul McCartney pictures we used for inspiration:

Thanks for looking! Smiley
