1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Tu-tu wall hanger/bow holder? on: November 03, 2009 04:50:39 PM
I want to make my niece a tu-tu wall hanging bow holder for christmas, but I don't know what to make the body out of. Anyone know any tutorials for this online? I googled but didn't find anything.

looks like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30305155&ref=sr_list_2&&ga_search_query=tutu+bow+holder&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Problem- Wobbly Straight stitch w/ electronic Singer on: November 03, 2009 04:34:35 PM
So DH bought me a new Singer (electronic) for our anniversary. I think something is wrong with it though. It doesn't want to sew a straight stitch, I thought maybe it was me, but I just tried to topstitch a strap, and it's all wonky.

When I say it won't sew straight, I mean that I run the stitch and then when I look at it, it's all wobbly, very noticably, but not consistantly like a zig zag.

It has Auto tension and is well oiled. I'm just not sure what is wrong with it or if it really is me doing something wrong. I even switched to metal bobbins, and that didn't help.
