371  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / A few baby things on: February 04, 2010 05:23:25 AM
Babies are poppin up everywhere! So I just have a little blanket for a girl, and an octopus for a boy. Although the octopus' tentacles aren't all the same, it's my first amigurami (sp?) and I think I did alright!

Such a cute hat can you share the pattern I have been looking for a hat like this. Great job.

wow thanks everyone! There actually was no pattern, I started out with 6 cluster stitches in a ring, then just started doubling for 2 or 3 round, then increased every 3rd, 4th and 5th stitch for each following round. When I had enough cluster rounds, I just half double crocheted the band, decreasing every 4th stitch for a few rows. It turned out to be a try on and keep adding/deconstructing hat because I was working with scrap yarn.

Thanks! She ended up *loving* it, and our other friend was like, "can you make me one?!"  Grin
374  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / handbag on: December 22, 2009 09:17:50 AM
So I knitted this bag from the Baguette pattern of the Berroco yarns website. It was fast. Although I think the handles are a bit heavy for it, I still like the way it turned out!

C&C always welcome!
375  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Stash Buster on: December 22, 2009 09:10:31 AM
So I'm on a mission because most of my main x-mas gifts were throws and afghans. That leaves me with a lot of leftovers. Thus, I whipped up a kind of slouch hat with cluster stitches. I started out trying to follow a cloche pattern, and like any time I try to crochet a hat that should fit the head snuggly, it morphs and turns into a pancake. So this hat was born.

So I needed a stash buster project, plus a present for one of my friends, and she loves crocheted flowers. So of course the Garden Scarf was a perfect idea!

and a close up

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out because we're doing Christmas Eve (eve eve) tonight and I started it last night at like midnight....

That is too cute! And as soon as you said coin slot I thought of the Dresden Dolls and wondered if there was a correlation.  Smiley

They look fantastic! Wow, it took me years to finish a way smaller cabled project, you are an amazing knitter! What are speed stix?

Speed stix are the devil. They're ginormous knitting needles. I think they're like 50mm. I'm not a super speedy knitter by any means, but these just slowed down the process and I felt really clunky with them.

thanks! I'm kicking myself for making the decision around Thanksgiving and not earlier so I had more time....but I'm working on through and hopefully everyone will appreciate the time and effort.  Smiley
380  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Oh Throw on: December 15, 2009 10:29:18 AM
So I'm making throws for family Christmas presents....it's quite the undertaking, but since I'm in the fair sunshine state, rarely does it get cold enough to get good use out of knitted accessories. So hear I am. Crocheting throws like a fiend. This one is for my sister and her hubby!

it's just a v stitch throw with fringe, but I love the colors. It reminds me of hot chocolate!
