4  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Fibre swap fall 2012 Sign up Sept.29- Oct.5, 2012 on: October 04, 2012 06:09:45 AM
Man! Why do good swaps always come up when I say I'm not doing any more swaps?! This would be a good excuse to finally use the drop spindles I received in the fiber swap last year, because I still haven't had time to teach myself to spin. I'm going to mull over this at work today, and perhaps fill out my q'aire tonight.....man I want in on this.....

I have had a ridiculous week at work (and it's not even over yet!) 12 hour days, another one today, and another long day tomorrow. Let's just say by the time I get home, I watch a little tv with my son, read him his books, and I end up passing out in his tiny twin size bed with him. I have this ninni carcass (too gross??) laying, waiting to be modified and put together...and some other stuff in the works. I actually have an entire weekend off, (I guess it's my reward for working 50+ hours this week!) so I plan to finish up. I won't even be able to send out my other swap package which is due tomorrow, because I don't have enough time to get to the post office. But hey, when work offers to pay you overtime, (and at my job, that NEVER happens...they freak if you work 30 minutes of overtime) you take what you can get, right?!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 13 Days of Halloween Swap Round 5 SIGNUPS CLOSED!!! SO 10/5 & 10/15 on: September 29, 2012 09:03:04 AM
I've promised myself a treat if I can finish the whole 13 days and pack up by friday. I haven't chosen said treat, but something guilt-free (because I usually make myself feel TERRIBLE when I buy anything for me!) I'll be kicking into overdrive tonight, but I think it's totally do-able. Smiley

Still here...I plan on at least cutting some fabric tonight. I tend to do an assembly line of crafting sometimes. So I know I'll be cutting some stuff for my 13 days of Halloween swap, I may as well cut some ninni fabric too! Smiley

Got my materials this weekend...plan on working on it while taking breaks from finishing the 13 days of Halloween swap (which is kicking my butt!)

So I just finished 2 smalls, and had the best thing happen. (maybe it's just me but..) whenever I start a stash busting yarn project, I never have enough yarn, and end up having to buy more to finish the "stash buster" which will in turn add more yarn to my stash. This morning, I had just enough yarn to finish up the 2nd small, and had about 6 in. left. I was so excited that I wouldn't have to by more yarn (totally defeating the purpose of a stash busting project!) I'm moving right along, gaining moment to try and finish everything to ship on the 5th. That's my goal, only because I hate making extra trips to the Post Office. Fighting off crochety retired people who have all the time in the world to do stuff and always seem to be at the P.O. on my lunch break, is not a good time, so I try to limit my encounters!
