31  Re: Newbie Swap Round 13 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by seabound23 on: August 04, 2010 07:14:08 PM
So I received my wonderful package from purringcat today!  Grin And let me tell you I was extremely pleased and so excited, I didn't take pre-pictures.

First, some super cute owls and a hello kitty charm!

An absolutely adorable felt octopus!

A super cute scarf and zipper pouch in amazing mushroom fabric!

Some super sweet yarn  Cheesy

And most importantly, the most phenomenal Alice!

and everything together! (minus the chocolates she included because they're in the fridge working their way back to a more solid form  Wink )

Amazing job, I really love everything! Such a bright note on an otherwise blah day!

32  Cherry Blossom inspired in Crochet: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: May 29, 2010 04:45:44 PM
So I have a friend who's pregnant with a little girl and is doing her nursery cherry blossom themed. So I whipped up a little granny square blanket with cherry blossom colors. Hopefully she loves it!

33  Multi Colored Knitting in Knitting: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: February 13, 2010 08:50:31 AM
So I'm finally learning to integrate colors. Not quite up to intarsia or fair isle, but this is a step in the right direction I think!

First is Knitty's Danica. I've always wanted a scarf like this, and the color combo is my favorite!

And a pipe pouch for a friend

34  A few baby things in Crochet: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: February 04, 2010 05:23:25 AM
Babies are poppin up everywhere! So I just have a little blanket for a girl, and an octopus for a boy. Although the octopus' tentacles aren't all the same, it's my first amigurami (sp?) and I think I did alright!

35  handbag in Knitting: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: December 22, 2009 09:17:50 AM
So I knitted this bag from the Baguette pattern of the Berroco yarns website. It was fast. Although I think the handles are a bit heavy for it, I still like the way it turned out!

C&C always welcome!

36  Stash Buster in Crochet: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: December 22, 2009 09:10:31 AM
So I'm on a mission because most of my main x-mas gifts were throws and afghans. That leaves me with a lot of leftovers. Thus, I whipped up a kind of slouch hat with cluster stitches. I started out trying to follow a cloche pattern, and like any time I try to crochet a hat that should fit the head snuggly, it morphs and turns into a pancake. So this hat was born.

37  Garden Scarf! in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by seabound23 on: December 22, 2009 09:06:46 AM
So I needed a stash buster project, plus a present for one of my friends, and she loves crocheted flowers. So of course the Garden Scarf was a perfect idea!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out because we're doing Christmas Eve (eve eve) tonight and I started it last night at like midnight....

38  Oh Throw in Crochet: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: December 15, 2009 10:29:18 AM
So I'm making throws for family Christmas presents....it's quite the undertaking, but since I'm in the fair sunshine state, rarely does it get cold enough to get good use out of knitted accessories. So hear I am. Crocheting throws like a fiend. This one is for my sister and her hubby!

it's just a v stitch throw with fringe, but I love the colors. It reminds me of hot chocolate!

39  Oh Cable throw in Knitting: Completed Projects by seabound23 on: December 15, 2009 10:26:40 AM
So I'm knitting/crocheting family members throws for x-mas....man was I high when I thought that up? It's quite time-consuming, but since I live in FL, there's not a high demand for scarves, hats, and other various knitted accessories, so I thought throws. First up is a cabled throw I made for my parents in dark brown acrylic yarn.

And for my boyfriend's mother...I thought I picked an easier pattern, but I can honestly say if I never use speed stix again I'll be ecstatic. I would rather impale myself with one than ever knit with them again.

thanks for looking! (2 down...2 to go)

40  Some paintings I've done in the past 6 months.... in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by seabound23 on: November 20, 2009 07:40:28 PM
A lot of these I was inspired to do to hang in my son's room. All were done in acrylics.

A Sailor Jerry inspired name Banner hanging above his crib. :]

Inspired by Kurt Halsey. I also saw fireflies the night after I found out I was pregnant.

I <3 snails. And apparently I like to decorate my son's room in bugs and pirate stuff. :p

On to other paintings that I've done that are just hanging up around the house.
