1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: long long button-down sweater...Anyone know similar patterns? on: September 23, 2005 08:50:11 AM
Thanks for the great ideas, guys! That online pattern is really pretty. I'm going to check out those books too.

Thanks again!

I saw this sweater at Macy's by Free People, and just about died it was so beautiful:

I have no pipe dreams of being able to do any fancy lace-work like that, but does anyone know of a pattern for a similar-style sweater? I like the way it fits, the length, and the collar. I'd LOVE to have something like this, but not for $198. Although, buynig that much yarn could cost well over $198... I suppose I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Anyway, if anyone knows where I could find a similar pattern, or of a book that has stuff like this, I would be totally inspired to improve my knitting skills to work on this.

Thanks!

That is gorgeous. I love it just the way it is. Maybe you could add a simple line of black sequins or beads along the top and/or bottom if you have to spice it up just a little.

And yes, please please post the pattern!

I'll get in on this!

Hi everyone!

I started this sweater a couple days ago, and I THINK I finally get it. It took me a number of hours of grumbling, scouring the Completed Projects thread for clarification, and banging my fist on my desk before it became clear to me.

Anyway, I'll have to find a friend with a digital camera to post the results if they're not too embarassing. Good luck everyone!

That is AWESOME. Was it complicated? I'd love to see a pattern too! Although I don't think I could do anything that fancy!
