1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Stretchy crochet fabric? on: October 07, 2005 06:16:06 PM
Moss stitch is pretty stretchy.  It works up a little like knitting.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: baby blanket help on: September 03, 2005 06:04:58 PM
A good size for a baby blanket is about 32 by 38-40 inches, I'd say.  Think 2.5 by 3 ft and little.

That's really beautiful.  Did you come up with the pattern yourself?
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet Single Stitch question. on: July 20, 2005 01:58:09 PM
Actually, you can do reverse single crochet, and that'll make all your stitches face the same way.  I've done it; it's not hard once you get the hang of it.
5  California / California: South / Sewing classes in LA? on: July 13, 2005 10:19:33 AM
Does anyone know where I can take beginning sewing classes in LA?  Google hasn't been helping me out very much ...

Thanks!

That's really nice work.  Did you use a pattern, or is it your own creation?

I love that!  I think the colors are very baby-friendly.
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: help needed: what is this stitch ? on: July 07, 2005 09:02:03 AM
It's called fan stitch, I think.  And I think Lothruin is right, that's a front post DC.

It's a really nice pattern.

You did such a good job!  I've been thinking about making one of these for months; I just might have to do it now.

t1g3rl1ly - It was going to be for my girlfriend's cousin's baby, but, alas, she tricked me and decided to have a boy.  The yarn is just plain ol' Lion's Brand acryclic - but it's super soft.

modkatie - Crab stitch's pretty easy.

SC to the end of a row (join if you're working in the round).  Do not turn.  Insert the hook in the stitch directly to the RIGHT of the hook, YO, and complete a SC.  Continue, working back along the row of SC you just finished.

Basically, you're just crocheting backwards; that's what makes the loops.
