1  Curious George purse/bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by boberry on: July 17, 2010 08:19:47 PM
Computer and camera all in working order again and no more cell phone pics Smiley
The pictures are not the greatest(computer is down and so camera is also) but I was so happy to be finished it I can not say.  It was my first purse and my first time sewing a lining for a purse.  I hope to get better pictures up soon, but for now..here you go Smiley

I don't have any close up pics of the squares, but i do have a close up of the the corner/edging which shows part of one square.

It has finally made its way on to my bed just an hour ago, so I will see if it is heavy or not tonight(hoping for heavy).  thanks everyone for showing such interest and loving it as much as i do Smiley

Congrats to Boberry for her super colorful granny afghan being on the homepage as a "Hot New Item"!
OMG, was it?  It just figures...lol  My sister had a baby on Wednesday morning and I have been at her house for the last 4 days taking care of her kids while she was in the hospital.  So I totally missed it Sad
Anyways, between taking care of her boys and my youngest, painting my sisters basement, planting her garden, and all the other stuff I also managed to make a granny square blanket for my new niece.  So her she is with my mom and the blankie:

I would have liked to make something bigger but wanted to wait and see what my sister had first and there is only so much you can do in 4 days..lol

4  First granny square afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by boberry on: May 17, 2010 09:29:26 PM
I made this afghan while doing the granny square CAL.  In total it took me a month.  120 squares and some cramping hands but totally worth it Smiley

I like the colors of the inga bag, very nice!  And the baby blanket may not have the greatest colors(i like bright and fun too) but it sure does look snuggily, so baby approved i am sure!

So I am going to be away for most of the rest of the month...my sister is having her c section so i will be taking care of her other kids and also have a bunch of girl guide camps.  Anyways, I have ignored all other responsibilities this week so I could finish this cal project.
Not quite finished but wanted a pic before the sun started going down for good lighting...please ignore my yarn stash shelves

All done but starting to get dark.

Edging/corner detail

I would never have got this done without this CAL, I tend to avoid big projects(and have never kept one for myself before) so thanks everyone...I think next month I am going to give hex's a go!

Since I have gotten a couple of mails about the pattern for these super quick and easy pot scrubbers I thought I would post it here.

Using nylon netting from the fabric store cut into a long strip you crochet 2 circles.
6sc, join with slst.
ch3, 15 dc and join with slst over the ring formed.
ch3 and 2 dc in each stitch around, join with slst.
FO for first circle, continue for second circle by holding both circles together and sc in each stitch around. FO Tuck all loose ends inside to give the scrubbie a bit more girth.
Some people find the netting easier to work with if they sprinkle talc powder on their hands.  The scubbies are safe to use on nonstick pans and glass(like a fish tank) and everything in between!

I received from funthreads last week, but this is the first time I have sat at my computer long enough to upload and edit the quick shots I managed to get before the kids and I put all our wonderfully sewn items to work.  So here they are:
Cat got 4 lovely adjustable diapers for her baby dolls and a tooth fairy pillow/door hanger (she was super excited, like a mini Christmas)

Bug got the best messenger bag and matching makeup bag ever...she has shown it to everyone that will look.

I do have to point out that I got major attitude about her "not having any makeup" :| to put into the makeup bag...I replied with something equally smart ass about it being a pencil case for summer school.  I think I won that battle of hormones Cheesy
And I got my much wished for wetbag and even some matching oven mitts, absolutely love them!!!

Wetbag on my stove for less then 5 minutes and already holding a paperless towel from a water spill that happened while Cat was helping me open my items...lol

and my favorite item is the owl bag carol made for me....it is still sitting between my computer and sewing machine waiting to be used for the perfect task and inspiring me to learn to sew(more then one friend has offered to buy it from me or volunteered to have it gifted to them, but I said NO!!)
Thanks so much for again for all the wonderful things funthreads!!  You are really talented and we love everything you sent...this has been a great first swap for me, I just hope you enjoy everything you get tomorrow!
xoxo

Hey all, I have been sick and when not sick busy, but have been managing to get a little crocheting in.  I made a granny square bag so far, but since it is for a swap on this site i can only post a teaser for now.

It is a 16 square bag and is lovely, I want one now.
I also have been working on an afghan for my queen bed and this is what I have so far..36/144+edging.

I am not sure if I will get this done by the end of the month, but I am going to try Cheesy
