1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Finally Finished!! on: February 27, 2005 06:38:12 PM
Wow, what a fantastic piece.

I'm impressed that you stuck with it for three years.  I either wouldn't take on such a project or I would give up on it (or lose the pattern...).

Are you going to frame it or do you have other plans for it?

Sorry to double post again, but I made another coaster and wanted to show it:

It's not Mario, but it is Nintendo (Mega Man).  I didn't want to start a whole new thread.

Thanks!  I bought the coaster at Michael's, in the cross-stitch/embroidery aisle.  The Mario pattern is from Pipu on page one of this thread.

The coasters cost $2.99 and come with a cheesey pattern, a square of fabric, and a circle of cork for the bottom.

Sorry for the double post, but I've made a Mario coaster and wanted to post a photo:

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cross-stitch towels discontinued? on: January 29, 2005 10:42:25 AM
Thanks LostCove, I never thought to check at Wal-mart (I usually don't shop there). Unfortunately,  I don't have a Hobby Lobby near me.

I never thought to make my own, I might have to give that a try.  The lady at Michael's told me that cross-stitch has "fallen out of fashion", so that's why they aren't carrying the stuff anymore...
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Cross-stitch towels discontinued? on: January 28, 2005 08:56:02 AM
The other day I went to Michael's to buy more tea towels.  Since I couldn't find them I asked someone, and she told me that they are discontinued and Michael's no longer sells them.

Have any of you recently bought these towels?  I'm hoping they were just disconintued at Michael's and not by the manufacturer.

I posted this in the "Mario inspiried xstitch" thread, but here again is the towel I just stitched.  I wanted to do a whole series of Mario game character towels, so I'm hoping these things really aren't discontinued.

I made a Goomba tea towel (Thanks everyone for posting the patterns):

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: HP iPod Tattoos on: January 10, 2005 11:45:51 PM
This seemed so cool until I realized I have a 3rd generation iPod. Which means no tattoo along with the fact that I payed more for it and it has a practically non-existant battery life. And I haven't seen any good covers for it anywhere. Dammit.

Time_warp, why can't they be used with the 3rd generation iPods?

Has anyone used the new iPod Tattoos from HP?

Supposedly, you can either design your own 'tattoo', or download images from HP's website.  I just wanted to see some real-world examples of these before I buy some of the sheets myself.
