Continuing the theme of bags made from bags-



I used black garbage bags and white and grey grocery bags.  Both of the bags had blue and red printing on them, which I think added some nice subtle variation.

 The whole bag is just single crochet- I crocheted all the pieces separately, and then sewed them together with the plastic bag yarn. 



The branch motif I basically free-handed using a paper template to guide me.  I had no idea what I was doing basically, but I think it turned out OK. (However, if anyone had suggestions on how to do it better in the future, I would love the advice!)  Then I just pinned it on and sewed it using the black garage bag plarn.



The straps are so long I sewed them together at the top so that they wouldn't get (quite as) tangled.

So, there it is- it took nine months (I'm not a very motivated crafter sometimes), but isn't she a looker!

The whole bag is single crocheted, with the handles sewed on.



I'm pretty sure I used about a bahgazillion (that is a completely legitimate scientific term) Walmart, WinnDixie, Best Buy and other various and sundry plastic bags.  The handles are made from plastic bags.  They have an almost leather-like texture to them after I crocheted them.

I think my favorite part is the contrast in the white stitching on the black handles inside the bag.
