I have never sewn ANYTHING before in my life. But, my little one said he wanted to be jack "the pumpkin king" for halloween, and 1) i couldn't find that costume in a store & 2) i couldn't afford it even if i had found it. So, i went to joann's and let him pick out a fabric... well, we searched all over and apparently finding a black pinstripe fabric is impossible... and he had a choice between this and one other. i bought three yards (to give myself some room to screw up) and it only cost me $1.54 for all three and a quarter yards! i didn't have a pattern, so i basically just cut out shapes until i got it right.. the collar took the most tries.. and 5096896898698696 mistakes later, I DID IT! i made the tie out of those pipe cleaner things and sewed it to the shirt. the end.

the finished product.

before the collar

after the collar, before the sleeves...
