1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Glitter sealant for DIY Christian Louboutin shoes? HELP! on: December 14, 2010 01:11:37 PM
I'm obsessed with these shoes. http://us.christianlouboutin.com/catenita-140mm-1.html That being said I'm not wealthy enough nor can I justify spending $900 on a pair of glittery heels.

I came across this tutorial http://www.adventuresindressmaking.com/2010/01/diy-christian-louboutin-glitter-pumps.html

I'm going to buy a pair of pumps and follow that tutorial using multi-colored glitter. However, I'm worried about the glitter falling off and not being water proof. What would you suggest using to seal it and make it water proof?

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Snake Skin Peyote Cuff on: May 16, 2010 02:22:09 PM
Hello ladies and gents...this is my first peyote piece that I'm sharing with ya'll so please be gentle.  Undecided

Anyway, I was on google.com looking at animal prints for inspiration and came across a beautiful blue and yellow scale print. I loved it, made a pattern for it and ordered the beads. The beads took 7 days (the longest 7 days of my life) to get her and immediately got to work. I couldn't be happier with how it came out...I love it. On to the pics...remember to be gentle!  Wink

It was hard to get a good shot of it becuase I used a handful of different finishes. Anyway, what do ya'll think?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Triangle peyote shape - how to? on: April 15, 2010 11:16:27 AM
Anyone know how to do this?

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / How do you draft peyote patterns? on: April 14, 2010 06:28:20 AM
This may seem silly but I've tried my hand at peyote pattern drafting on a blank peyote graph and I let the drop mess with my head. I usually draft in straight lines and the drops throw me off guard.

Do you draw your shapes on the graph then color them in? Do you just scribble on the graph paper with colored pencils? Gahhhhh! I want to try this so bad but it makes me want to pull my hair out.  Embarrassed
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Peyote stitch braided cuff...how to on: December 04, 2009 12:28:19 PM
I'm not sure what you'd call this technique but I'd like to give it a shot if someone can give me an idea on how to make this:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29488461&ref=sr_list_17&&ga_search_query=peyote+pattern&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=4&includes

It looks like a black peyote stitched base with a single strand of multi-colored seed beads woven in and out of the base. Any ideas how this is done?

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 25 Year Anniversary Party Ideas on: November 04, 2009 10:15:53 AM
Hi guys! My mother-in-law was hinting to me the other day that she wanted a 25 year anniversary party. Any ideas for a low budget yet still pretty awesome party?

I'm usually pretty good at planning parties but I've done so many that I'm drawing a blank.
