21  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Keep Moroccan Kids Warm! on: July 06, 2007 10:46:43 AM
i'm interested in participating, but how are things supposed to be both wool and able to stand up to a washboard?  they'd felt.
22  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: How 'bout a "Pro. Craftster" board? on: June 13, 2007 10:57:23 AM
i have to say that this idea doesn't sit well with me at all.  i understand the idea behind it, but craftster is, in its essence, a D.I.Y. site.  it's not a site for selling.  under any circumstances.  if i see something that someone has made that i like, and would be interested in buying, i follow their etsy link at the bottom of their posts.  to me, that's sufficient.  i think setting aside a board JUST for selling, especially with so called "pro" craftsters, ruins the spirit of craftster.

wow... a syringe... that's a really good idea.  yeah, i've just been eying it.  but i should get more scientific.  next batch i totally will.
24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: RESIN on: May 27, 2007 03:05:25 PM
i cast some pendants in a silicon muffin tray last sunday.  almost all of it is hardened - all along the bottom and the sides, and on the top surface all around the outside.  just the very middle is still tacky.   i used easycraft EPOXY resin, so it's not like the orange peel sticky.  it's just sticky.  will it ever cure?? am i doomed?

p.s. the silicon muffin tray worked great otherwise! popped right out, no mold release required.

yeah i was going to but i figured since it was so long nobody would pay attention.  i'll try there.

I mean this sincerely, and not mockingly, there are simply not enough boobies in our everyday lives.
i completely agree. Smiley

you must get funny looks from the cashier in the check out lane.

hee.  well actually a lot of cashiers want to see it. Smiley i just make sure to hide it when there are children or old folk around.

This is about my 5th or 6th wallet I've made out of a vintage Playboy, but it's the first one i've remembered to take pictures of, and also my favorite.  For the last couple wallets I used the packing tape tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=9299.0

But on this one, I decided to sew it, in the hopes of it being sturdier.

I hope you like it!
