1  Tree of Life in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by knc2000us on: January 30, 2011 03:21:56 PM
Here is my attempt at making a Tree of Life pendant. My first one I did, I started at the top and not the bottom with some off center results. I redid it from the bottom and this is what I got. My inspiration is from the fantastic ones PhoenixFireDesigns does. She is absolutely wonderful! She has helped me by letting me pester her with questions.
Thanks for looking!

Please excuse the crappy pic. It was done on my phone.

2  Pot holder in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by knc2000us on: January 10, 2011 01:26:18 PM
I have small hands and have a time with regular pot holders. My friend Gina had one like this. I borrowed it, made a pattern and went to sewing. Here is what I made. It is pretty much a test one. I couldn't find insulated batting so I got some ironing board cover fabric and some regular batting to use instead.
So, without further ado:

3  Chain Drape Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by knc2000us on: December 28, 2010 05:48:40 PM
I made this today for a friend for Christmas. Yes, I know, Christmas is over, but she is a hard one. She isn't all girly girl but just more I-want-to-be-comfortable girl. I wanted to make her something casual but not too casual. When we go out every once in a blue moon, she does a casual dressy type thing. This is just the necklace. I plan on making a bracelet (I have a concept in my head on how I want to do that) and a pair of earrings (I have a tiny bit of an idea but I am going to see what happens when I start it).
So, anyway, without further ado..................

I feel the need to apologize for forgetting to charge my camera battery and using my phone for the pics. They aren't the best quality. And, you can see in the picture of the whole necklace, my 5 year old has learned to write letters and numbers in Pre-K............

I made a bracelet to match the necklace:

I just basically measure my wrist, cut 2 of each chain from the necklace, attached them to a jump ring, tangled them a bit, then attached at the other end in no particular order, then attached the clasp.

4  Baby Uggs in Crochet: Completed Projects by knc2000us on: December 15, 2009 12:13:17 PM
I only have one done. I wanted to use some Lion Suede to make it look more like suede. Well, the hook size and other things need to be adjusted. I don't have time before I have to get a couple pair of these done for Christmas (along with the million other things on my to do list) so I used Loops and Threads Impeccable worsted for the main boot color (brown). It is a little softer than regular worsted yarn. I used Caron Soft for the contrast and Bernat Soft Boucle for the fuzzy edge. Here is my result using Crochetroo's Baby Ugg pattern.

Here is a link to her blog where you can link to her etsy.com store that I purchased the pattern from.

5  First Crochet post: baby booties in Crochet: Completed Projects by knc2000us on: December 02, 2009 03:03:43 PM
So, here is my first post on the crochet forum. I wanted to get a gift for a friend who just recently had a baby. I started crocheting the standard baby blue booties and hat. I was browsing through this forum yesterday (I seem to have an addiction to this forum and have added way too much to my mental to do list). Waaaaaaaay back, not sure where, I saw this posted. I fell in live and knew I had to make them. This is a picture of only one. The second one is a work in progress. I took the pictures on my night stand. Sorry about the mess!!!!!!  Grin
Thanks for looking!!!

6  Pants to skirt...........my first refashion post!!!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by knc2000us on: November 27, 2009 10:54:22 AM
Just wanted to share this refashion I did on a fave pair of pants.
I bought these on sale. They were a pair of Baby Phat slacks. I LOVED THEM! The only problem is I am short and they were way to long for me. I needed them hemmed and it is hard to hem pants by yourself. So, I took them to get hemmed. I had already washed them once when I bought them. I have some great heels that I love to wear when the weather is nice enough. I like to get my pants hemmed just a teeny bit shorter than normal so I can show off the shoes too. Well, I got them hemmed and wore them the next day. I washed them and hung them in the closet for the next time. A couple of weeks later I go to put them on and they had shrunk!!!! Not a lot, but enough that they were too short!!! It looked really dorky! I was so upset!!! Anyway, they hung in my closet for a few months...................until I got the inspiration to refashion them!!!
I completely undid the inseam. Sewed them with a top stitch front and back. I tried it on and put a pin where I wanted the hem to be. I moved the pin down about an inch from there. I just did a regular hem on it. My pencil skirt was made! I had a friend come over yesterday and I showed her the skirt. She didn't even know I had refashioned it!! LOL I do have to say, though, that the fabric stretches, but not a whole lot. I had a time getting into my truck with heels and a pencil skirt on!!!
I don't have any before or during pics of this project!! Sorry!! and please, please excuse how I look in this pic. I VERY rarely take a decent picture!!!!!!!
Since I can't post a pic in here until I have posted 10 times, I am going to give a link:

I am very new to these forums so if it doesn't work, please let me know!!!
Thanks so much!!!
