1 JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Dice earrings...a project a year in the making on: June 21, 2010 05:32:21 PM
So, I've had all these awesome dice sitting around for almost a year, since I bought them at Comic-Con last year. I've been toying with the idea of splurging on a dremel, but today in AC Moore, I stumbled across a cheapo craft drill, and figured I might as well give it a shot. The drill is meh, but it did more or less what I wanted it to. A little later, I came out with these!

2 JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / crystal bracelet - graduation present for a friend! on: June 20, 2010 11:57:25 AM
I made this bracelet for one of my friends as a graduation present! It's all Swarovski...which means of course, mega-sparkles.

Sorry about the pictures...it's hard to get good lighting in my house. :S
3 POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / raspberries and sushi! on: June 17, 2010 06:55:44 PM
Raspberry earrings:

Sushi necklace:

I'd say more about them, but they're pretty self explanatory and I'm very tired! Goodnight, all. Smiley
4 NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Spirited Away bag for the Miyazaki swap! on: June 15, 2010 08:55:10 PM
This was my favorite part of the package I sent out for the Miyazaki swap!

Closeup of the little guys:

And one more closeup, just because I'm super proud of the faces:

All the shapes are cut out of felt, then hand-sewn with embroidery thread. My fingers are still sore. Tongue

For those of you who have never seen Spirited Away, this is taken from my favorite scene: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/380682174_373e583fcb_o.jpg
5 MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / art-a-day July on: June 11, 2010 01:20:04 PM
So, the other day I was wasting time on Facebook, when I got invited to this:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=128815977142836

For those of you without Facebook, here are the details:

Art-A-Day 7/10
Start Time: Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 12:00am
End Time: Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 12:00am
Location: Everywhere and Anywhere
Description
Backstory: Recently, I read about a couple, married 15 years, who decided to have sex once a day to try and relight their fire. Surprisingly, it worked, and brought them closer together. So I decided it would be interesting to try and rekindle my artistic drive by doing the same thing with my art. I decided that for the month of July, I will attempt to make at least one thing creative/artistic every single day for the month of July, and keep a log of it. Then I realized, wait... anyone can make art! Maybe I'm not the only one who will do this...

So join me on this journey, friends.

For the month of July, attempt to make something artistic and/or creative at least once a day for the entire month.

It can be anything. Something you took five hours to make... something you drew on a napkin in thirty seconds. Drawings, sculptures, photographs, writing, websites. You can do anything. One creative thing of any measure, once a day, for an entire month.

This group will be open to post pictures, videos, anything you want to share in this journey.

Let's all join together and show that there still is creativity left in the world. It doesn't matter how creative you are... even a little bit of creativity is worth everything.

Be sure to spread the word, share this page with your friends, and let's get as many people to participate as possible.

Art-A-Day 7/10.
You can do anything.

So what do you guys think? I'm probably going to go for it...or at least try to!
6 COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Fun sushi! on: June 11, 2010 12:57:27 PM
My boyfriend and I have always been into making sushi. We've done a few fancy-ish rolls before, but last time we made it we decided to get even more creative...

I cut the shapes out of the nori with nail scissors. I really want to try making awesome bento boxes, but I can never think of a good idea for one!

7 JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bracelet for the English teacher I interned with on: June 11, 2010 12:07:44 PM
This year, I interned with a 9th grade English teacher. Today was the last day of school, and I wanted to give her something. Since she's an English teacher, and is proud of having read the entire dictionary (twice!), I figured something dictionary-related would be perfect.

The charm is just a dollhouse prop covered with diamond glaze. I punched a hole in it by beating a needle through it with a jar. Only took about 20 minutes. Tongue Enjoy!
