I've been working steadily on a lot of paper beads in the last couple months. I sold four necklaces at a silent auction for work, and am putting a bunch of it up in seasonal craft fairs (not doing well on that front yet).
First, eighty-odd beads made from a poster from work:
and a bunch of necklaces made from various flyers/posters from work:
I used magazine ads (specifically a Tyson's ad from a couple of CookingLight magazines) and rolled them on a pin flag (like these) 'cause that was what I had at hand at work when I started! I measured and cut the triangles by hand (also by rotary cutter); these are 1/2" at the base but I'm also doing a lot of 1" beads too.
Been mostly hanging around looking at reconstructed clothes since I signed up last October, but this past week I've been making a lot of paper beads, so now I'm posting in here for the first time
One of my dearest friends at work is having a birthday tomorrow, so I made her this necklace out of my new paper bead collection! I think the paper beads look almost like malachite. Just a couple of the better pics of it:
Thanks for posting this recon!! It's really pretty I'm going to try it out hopefully sometime soon; I'll have to figure the best place to insert the sleeves-band on my shirt since it's got a print I don't want to totally bisect right through! I'll try to remember to post a pic...
