3  Paper Mache Jack O Lantern in Halloween Decor and Parties by CupToTheCake on: December 17, 2009 05:08:57 PM
My mothers birthday is at the end of September and she digs Halloween, especially vintage Halloween decorations.
So I made her this!
Its not exactly paper mache...I used newspaper and some varnish glaze stuff as glue; I had to mold the face with clay but overall I like it a lot, probably more than her  Undecided

This is what I was going for, a real "vintage" one:

And this is mine.

I did add a wire handle before I gave it to her too..but I wouldnt recommend carrying it that way  Lips sealed

5  Beret..My first Post :) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by CupToTheCake on: October 25, 2009 03:21:00 AM
Hey everyone.
Long time lurker...first time poster Smiley

So I made a beret tonight/this morning; I just got my grandmother's old sewing machine a few days ago; Im used to hand sewing but this is so much easier now Shocked
Anyway, Its made out of felt. I wanted to use leather, but I didnt have enough left over after making my corset..which Ill take pictures of at some point  Cheesy
So felt it is then..
I used this tutorial: http://yale-eco-crafts.blogspot.com/2009/04/how-to-make-beret-out-of-old-shirt-or.html
But did make it a bit smaller.

And here it is...boy this photo upload thing is odd..

Pardon the messy hair..it was like 5 am Tongue
Aaand...I guess since Im new Ill just have to post links for now...

Hope..someone likes it!  Smiley
