1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Poppet vs Amigurumi Swap Round 2 Signups July 13 - July 27; Sendouts Aug 31 on: August 25, 2014 11:12:53 AM
Poppet is done, now on to the clothes! I have a lot more time to work now since kids started back to school this morning and husband works at a school, so he's not bothering me either. Just me and the little one - which oddly relates to peace and quiet!

I'm working on my poppet, but somehow or another I am still sucking up water out of my floor. It's so weird. It's in the middle of the floor, all around the edges have dried. I have fans on it 24/7. We have checked every pipe under the house and nothing. It hasn't rained, and I have purposely put off doing laundry to make sure it wasn't the washer. Lol, my mom suggested we have a ghost that pees on the floor in the bedroom every time we leave. Poppet making is becoming a nice distraction from home-owner woes!

I haven't gotten anything done yet. My husband surprised me with a trip to the mountains for HIS birthday lol. We took the kids to Blowing Rock, NC and the Tweetsie Railroad. The little cabin we stayed in was so cute, and my husband had the brilliant idea to want to build and live in one when we got home. He quickly changed his mind when I asked where I would put all my craft stuff!

That was all fun, but when we got home, we discovered that over half of our bedroom floor was sopping wet! Husband is gearing up to crawl under the house and see what's going on with out pipes. As soon as I get this mess cleaned up I will get started. I'll still be done in plenty of time so don't worry. But shame on life interrupting my crafting! Smiley

I have a ? about the ghilie's poppet pattern.  I printed out the pattern, and it came out the same size as the printer paper.  Is that the correct size?  Was I supposed to enlarge it somehow?  W/O the head, the body came out the same size as the Punkin' pattern.  Punkin' isn't a "small" pattern.  I appreciate any and all help and info.  I probably sound like a dope, but, this is my 1st poppet.  I already know what I'm making.   Grin  And, it involves LOTS, and LOTS, and LOTS of hand sewing.   Grin
I've always just printed it without enlarging. I think it takes two sheets... I'm a big help here aren't I lol Smiley

I think it depends on their wishes as to what pattern you would use. A Dolly Parton would obviously need the Eleanore one lol Smiley I can do two poppets, if there is a yarnie in waiting!

Btw, while stalking I noticed that wists do not exist anymore. .. does anyone know what happened?

According to the creator - So where did Wists go wrong? Galbraith provides a few potential reasons. For one, he never acquired the resources necessary to turn the site from a "quick and dirty prototype" to something slick and polished like Pinterest. He also feels that the site launched too early, as networks that could help drive growth like Facebook weren't near as big as they are today.

I can think of several poppets that would be wonderful with blue skin. And I also received the most adorable Rose from Doctor Who poppet from Sharalee in another poppet swap. If she joins, someone will be very happy (hint *join* hint Sharalee hint *join* hint!!!) I tried to be very subliminal there - did it work? Smiley

I received the most awesomest poppet ever from Sharalee. She sent me a Rose from Doctor Who!! My husband who doesn't even watch Doctor Who knew it was her as soon as I pulled her out of the box. I love her, thank you so much!!!

She's already right at home with a Tenth Doctor I received in another swap, so she's quite happy Smiley
(Check out the little rose on her pants!!)

I didn't realize her necklace got turned backwards, I was having too much fun posing them together!
She also came with another pair of pants. Again, thank you so so much!!
10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Walking Dead Felt Coasters on: June 11, 2014 07:26:33 PM
I made a set of these for a swap and had a friend fall in love with them, so I ended up making a second set. Each one is machine embroidered on white felt, then stitched to the black felt. They are slightly over 4 inches square each.
