1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Grocery / Gift / Lunch bag on: March 24, 2005 08:25:34 PM
I followed this tutorial, http://www.ehow.com/how_13441_make-paper-bag.html, but I am having trouble when I get to steps 8, 9 and 10.

#8 Just checking to make sure the new fold will be at 3" (using the 9.5 x 15 dimensions)
#9 I think I get this part, but this might be the part I'm misinterpreting
#10 Without 8, 9, and 10 this just doesn't add up, either.

Basically, I'm clueless.  And I want to know if it's me, or if it's this tutorial.

Is there anyone out there that can help?  Pretty please?  With a cherry on top?  It's just not clicking, and I know I'll kick myself when it does.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / It's "Prime Time" to be my Valentine! on: February 09, 2005 10:18:09 AM
As discussed in "Nerds need Valentines, too!" (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=21756.0)

I made a clock to go with my valentine card (I broke down and made it in Photoshop, though - but the envelope was crafted from a grocery bag, if that's any consolation!).   Cheesy

It's a plain carboard container (round; w/ top) that I bought from Joann Fabrics attached to a standard clock face (I painted the hands black for more contrast).  The numbers are stickers, and two 1/2" flat gemstones keep it upright!  I punched small holes where the non-prime numbers would normally be.

Maybe it's not THAT crafty, but it's a start (instead of quitting something for 2005, I thought I would START something, such as arts and crafts, etc).  This isn't my first project, but it's the first one I'm willing to show off!   Tongue

There is a small bear figurine in the back.  Don't ask.   Grin

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Measure twice (and then measure again), cut once (revisited) on: January 12, 2005 12:13:49 PM
Well, i completely ruined a "We Are the World" LP cover box by making the top and the bottom the same size, even though I could've sworn I had made the necessary adjustments.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Military Minatures on: January 11, 2005 02:03:30 PM
Any good leads on supplies for miniature / model vehicles (military, to be precise)?  They would be about the size on Matchbox cars.  Treads for tanks, wheels for Humvees, die-cast modeling kits, materials, etc?  I live in Minneapolis, but am open to internet / catalog orders, too...although, I DO prefer to be able to inspect the things before I make a purchase.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Nerds need Valentines too! :) on: January 06, 2005 05:36:34 PM
The card will read, "It's prime time to be my valentine".  Add cut outs of the numbers 2, 3, 5 and 7, or write as many prime numbers as you can all over the card.  Comprehensive lists can be found on the 'net...U of UT has a list of 10,000 prime numbers.  That oughta' do the trick.
6  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Dremel Tool and Keyboards on: January 05, 2005 06:14:01 PM
I just got me a Dremel tool (thanks Easter bunny), and I have liitle or no idea what its practical applications are.  Yeah, I see what they can do on the box...but that just doesn't seem practical to me...or at best, things that you really only need to do about once in a lifetime.

Also, I ripped the keys out of two qwerty keyboards.  Any thoughts on what I should be doing with them?  They are currently in a little basket and form a bed for the remote controls.  That's fine with me, too.

Plus, this is my first post, and that's the best I got.  Sorry gang.
