2  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Re: Creative Places to WORK in the Twin Cities... on: January 29, 2007 07:54:32 PM
We relocated here from Chicago and LOVE it!

what line of work are you in now? would you be looking to buy a house or condo, or rent? There's a lot of great areas to live in, depending on what you are looking for/can afford...

you just need a minnesota tax ID if you are selling items that need to be charged tax...you can go to the minnesota govt. website and get one online. then, you will need to pay the sales tax. I am just assuming you are talking about Minnesota craft sales...
4  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Shameless Plug: Come Shop Violette Market at Crafty Planet on: December 10, 2006 04:45:16 PM
hey gals. This is a completely shameless plug, but I'm trying to get the word out!

Some of you may have seen my booth at No Coast. I was selling custom-scented bath and body products. My little business is called Violette Market.

I'm having a special shopping event at Crafty Planet on December 19th (tuesday). It's $5.00, and you get refreshments plus 2 custom scented products, and a few hours to shop all the delicious goodies I've been whipping up. I will have over 50 fragrances to choose from and body wash, lotions, perfume sprays, scrubs and more! It starts at 6:30.

for more info, check out www.craftyplanet.com. I hope to meet some of you there!

5  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Twin Cities Bloggity Blog on: September 16, 2006 02:20:28 PM
Hey all...I've decided to plunge into the already-crowded world of blogging. Mill City Modern is a craft and design blog with a local spin. It's brand new, just have a few posts up, but I would love both feedback and also ideas for local shops, artists, homes, etc. to profile. let me know what you think and what you would love to see there!

thanks for the welcome...I'll make sure to stay upwind of both the Mississippi AND Mr. Khantastic  Cheesy

I am SO there for the thrift sales. Actually, I'll probably be there the day before to get all the good stuff before it goes on sale. Wink

I will be at the Craftstravaganza as a booth bitch for Crafty Planet, so please stop by and say hi! And I'm up for a meet up for sure. I'm neck deep in moving boxes right now, and the movers are coming tomorrow. so exciting and scary....

hey all...I'm moving to Minneapolis in 4 days! woohoo! I'm from Chicago, we bought a house in SW Minneapolis (Dupont & 58th). I already have all the thrift shops mapped out Smiley

I'm 33, married, no kids, the pride of my life are my 3 dogs and my 60's vespa (oh yeah, and my husband who keeps my vespa running).

looking forward to some crafty meet-ups soon!

9  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Re: No Coast Craft-o-Rama 2006 SEEKS VENDORS on: June 25, 2006 07:27:32 PM

10  Illinois / Illinois: North / Re: chicago thrift stores on: June 11, 2006 08:58:54 AM
if you have a car, I have a south side thrift route I take once a month. the south side stores are MUCH LESS picked over than the north side shops (but still frequented by pickers, etc. so you have to go early) here's my route:

Unique - Kedzie at 50th st.
Family Thrift - Kedzie south of 50th (maybe around 60th?)
Village Discount - 6419 S. Kedzie
Salvation Army - I think it's on 67th just east of Kedzie
St. Vincent DePaul - Western & 90th
Unique - Ashland & 95th
Salvation Army - Harlem & 95th
Salvation Army - 87th & Cicero
Salvation Army - 63rd & Oak Park Avenue

by this point I'm usually pretty tired. It takes all day to make this round.
