41  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dr Seuss party invitations on: April 02, 2011 04:16:34 PM
I recently participated in the Dr Seuss swap and made these for my partner. She is planning a Seuss-themed party for her son's birthday and needed some invitations. One of her favorite books was Marvin K Mooney Will You Please Go Now? so I decided to use that as my inspiration for the invitations. They are made from actual pages from the book. There were just enough pages for a set of 8 invitations and envelopes. Unfortunately I don't have more pictures, but would love to hear what you think Smiley

42  COOKING / Dessert / Green Eggs and Pretzels on: April 02, 2011 04:08:48 PM
I recently participated in the Dr Seuss swap and made these little guys for my partner. They were really easy to make, only requiring pretzel sticks, a dollop of white melting chocolate and a green M&M. Of course, I had to make a batch for my daughter and myself after I was finished with the ones to send Wink Let me know what you think!

43  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Star Bellied Sneetches have bellies with stars.... on: April 02, 2011 04:06:13 PM
I recently participated in the Dr. Seuss swap. One of my partner's favorite Dr. Seuss stories is The Sneetches. I decided to make her (and her son) a Sneetch. The pattern is one of my own creations. I was pretty impressed with the way it came out since I'm not really big on making patterns. He is made from felt and stitched using a combination of machine and hand sewing. The star on his belly was traced from a cookie cutter. I'm pretty proud of him and would love to hear what you think!

44  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Brigid, Goddess of....poppets? on: April 02, 2011 03:53:40 PM
Here is my latest addition to the world of poppets. She is Brigid, Celtic Goddess of healing, poetry and smithcraft. I made her for a friend of mine.

She is wearing a green velvet halter dress with a leather waist cincher and separate bell sleeves. The halter strap and trim in the top of the sleeves is made from braided leather cording. The belt she wears is also made from leather cord, braided around the waist and then woven to connect the ends.

Around her wrist is a leather bracelet with a charm on it. The charm says 'made with love'

She also sports leather sandals made from the same material as her waist cincher. They attach with more leather cord and lace up her legs.

From the back; you can see her long red hair and her leather barrette

She was a lot of fun to make and nearly created herself!

C&C welcome!
45  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Vine Entwined Vase on: March 26, 2011 01:55:18 PM
I made this vase in my ceramics class this semester. it is built with the coil method. The vines are more coils, added after the base had been smoothed. It is glazed with stone white on the base and rhodes turquoise on the vines. Glazing is not an exact science, so it came out in an interesting pattern after firing.

The inside is done with rhodes turquoise

C&C welcome!
46  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Linoleum the Rogue Poppet on: March 21, 2011 09:04:25 PM
I made this poppet for my awesome partner, theatreorchid in the D&D swap. Her favorite character is a rogue named Linoleum. Linoleum wears shiny patent leather armor when she is fighting and a black skirt and purple coat around town with as much jewelry as she can manage. Without further adieu, I give you Linoleum!

47  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Swan Song and More on: February 25, 2011 08:40:10 PM
This semester was my first time taking any sort of ceramics class, and let me tell you, I *love* it. I would have to say it is my favorite class this semester. I finally got some pieces completely finished, so time to share!

This is something I made for my husband. We have matching swan tattoos on our forearms, so it's sort of a relationship thing. This is a container that I'm not sure what he'll put in it, but I adore the way the neck turned out.

This is an incense holder I made in the shape of a flower. The glaze didn't turn out exactly the way I had pictured, but I like the breaking on the texture of the petals.

This vase was coiled and then depressed by hand. I actually like it a lot more now that it's been glazed than I did before. I glazed the outside with a turquoise, did the inside in celadon blue and then dribbled some of the celadon on top of the turquoise.

This last guy was an orphan that had been fired but never glazed. I did the bottom half in a satin black and the top in a turquoise, which is definitely my favorite glaze so far.

Well, that's it for now. C&C welcome!
48  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Loaded Charm Bracelet on: January 31, 2011 02:02:03 PM
I've been making a lot of loaded charm bracelets lately. There's something so relaxing about it. This one features pieces of pink shell, some swirly shells, colored glass pieces white craft pears and a few more things.

49  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wire Wrapped Ring on: January 31, 2011 02:01:07 PM
I made this ring out of 20 gauge jewelry wire and a rose quartz piece. I've been playing with wire rings recently and this one has been my favorite so far. C&C welcome!

50  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / More Wallets! on: January 31, 2011 09:09:40 AM
I've been on a wallet making kick recently. Most of them have gone ff to new homes before I remembered to take pictures but here are some of my four most recent.

This one is my favorite and happens to be my wallet. I made one out of the same fabrics for a swap and decided I liked the outcome so much I had to have one as well.

This was fabric left over from Halloween and general witchy crafting

This one looks like it has a branch and berry pattern on the fabric

I call this one my strawberry chocolate wallet
