LOVE the orange earrings! Beautiful.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Needlepoint supplies - Canada on: April 19, 2011 03:37:25 PM
Have you tried 123 cross stitch??
If they don't have it-- you can always request it and they might be able to order it in for you!

Thanks - I'll check it out! I may have found some supplies here in Halifax.
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: first timer - quilt #1 on: April 19, 2011 03:34:41 PM
This looks great! Did you stitch the back? Was there a pattern that you followed?  Love the colors! Grin

Thanks! I didn't follow a pattern, just made it up as I went along. I did do free motion quilting on it, but otherwise did not do any stitching to the back. I used clear thread so that the pattern would show equally on all of the colours. It was my first foray into free motion sewing - loved doing it - would be much easier on a machine with a larger arm or a free motion machine. Will do it again though.

Thanks everyone - I'll check out those leads. There may also be someone in Dartmouth - I'll post the info if it turns out to be a source.

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / first timer - quilt #1 on: March 27, 2011 11:55:13 AM
My first completed quilt - it's not huge but makes for a great baby quilt. I loved the fabrics (gotta love fat quarters!) and enjoyed every minute of make it, even the mishaps and stitch ripping. Especially enjoyed the freehand machine quilting - I love to doodle and it was doodling with my sewing machine.

Next steps... tackling a queen sized summer quilt for our bedroom. Might need a bigger sewing table.

Looking forward to feedback and would love any suggestions you have, including future project suggestions and tips and tricks.

love this and what a great idea - I think I may be making something similar to store all of my crafting goodies. Have you made any little bins or boxes?

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Handy Quilted Dish Mat (Link to tute) on: March 27, 2011 11:31:28 AM
What a GREAT idea - I don't love the dish rack sitting on my counter either. No more tea towels crumpled on the counter!
