1  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / PLEASE help me find this pattern! on: June 09, 2005 01:15:16 PM
Hey guys! I really need your help in finding this out of print pattern. Its Simplicity 7438. Its a pattern for a women's sleeveless cloak that I plan on altering to make a Jedi robe. I have looked everywhere and I can't find it, but being the superb seamstresses you are, I am confident that you can help me. If you guys have a spare pattern or know where to get one, I would be completely willing to buy it from you. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / new to sewing and have a stupid question on: January 05, 2005 10:58:04 AM
I have made a couple basic projects with ties and such, and I have been looking at projects that other people have made on different websites and noticed awesome embroidery that they use to decorate purses. Basically what I'm looking to do is make a shape, like a sun for example, in a different type fabric than the main project, and sew it to the fabric using a really thick outline of thread. I believe that this is some sort of embroidery, but as I am new to this, I could be wrong. I would love it if someone could help me with this. If my explanation is confusing I could try to post a better example of what I'm looking for.

--also I was looking to do this on a machine--
