31  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Hand-Carved Stamp Swap--Round 4 (Signups 5/1 to 5/31; SEND OUT 6/30) on: April 30, 2012 08:01:30 PM
Oh gods!

I'm already organizing one swap and in another... but its just stamps! I don't have the budget to buy more supplies... How expensive could erasers be?

Arg. It seems I might have to add a third swap to my list! Yikes!

Oh it's so hard! I went through the Gallery of almost every WWP swap and stalked pinterests. I'm going to have to do it all over again when I get partners because I've looked at so much, I can't remember what is for who!

Alright everybody, 4 more days to sign up! Let's get those questionnaires finished and in, so we can have a nice long craft period!

I can attest to the wonderful people in this group, and I'm extremely new to 'the craft'. Like...I still have that sparkly new-witch smell, I'm that new.

And they have been extremely accommodating and lovely to me. Smiley

Haha I think I have that body spray wulf was talking about! 'Sparkley New-Witch' A new fragrance to go alongside your god and goddess oil! I'm excited to finally join one of these things, and have an adoptive coven. Since I don't know any WWPs in real life! Even though I live in a big city, I've been too shy to go find some.

36  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Virgo and a pair of sexy sweaters! *Pic Heavy* on: April 25, 2012 09:05:06 PM
Hi guys!

I'm just finishing up my second year at fashion college in Toronto, and I thought I'd share some of the things I've been working on!

Craftster has been such a fun time, and has inspired me to keep sewing and creating even when I was exhausted, so I'm putting these up as a thank you, for all the support of the fantastic people on this forum Smiley

This was a project for a knitwear class, we had a week to be taught how to sew skirt/sweats/sweater or whatever it was, design our own interpretation of it, and hand a completed garment, pattern and technical sketch in the next week! Phew!

My lovely model is wearing a pair of biker shorts I also made underneath, since it really is a shirt. The fabric is a loose knit sweater fabric, with a gold thread running through.

This next one was also a knitwear project, where we had to make a boat neck sweater.

There are also small gold studs along the front neck and the cuff in place of buttons. And then the real drama is in the back!

A nice big cowl with gold chains strung across it! This is my personal favorite knitwear project, I wear it all the time, and it fits me, even though I'm double the size of my model! (She's a 6, I'm a 12)

This next one was for a contest I did at the start of school. 12 students were given the twelve signs of the zodiac, and we had to design and create an outfit with a $300 gift card from Fabricland.

This is Virgo!

All the skirt pieces were cut individually from a combination of organza, lace, tulle and chiffon; which were then hemmed and joined into the corset along with a super poufy petticoat. There are also inset bra-cups, because my runway model was lacking in the breast department.  It also had a bolero that went with it:

The jacket is essentially a bolero, with a giant ruffle.
If you really like it, and want to see the runway shots at the contest, or some of the other entries, you can go here:   http://www.catwalkcure.ca/photogalleries/pbalinksi.html

It's a slideshow on the companies website Smiley

Everything in this post was designed, drafted and sewn by me, so please ask my permission if you want to reproduce any of my work, and please don't sell copies of my garments.

If anybody would like to know how I did a specific thing, or a close-up of any details, I can add them in. Smiley
37  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Unicorn with massive amount of pictures. on: April 25, 2012 07:54:07 PM
I repinned this, and squealed, and avidly read every single sentence you wrote! I've always loved needle-felting, but I've never seen it this masterfully done!

I just started getting into these via audible.com and I am up to book 5. I listen to books while I craft because turning pages and crocheting all day interfere with each other; the whole time I always think of all the awesome crafts I could make! I am so in.

Yay! Glad to have you. Now we've got half a dozen people in, that just need to fill out the questionnaire! I would love to listen to my books while I craft, but unfortunately I sew. And my sewing machine is very loud. And so I have to be music and book-less while sewing!
