541  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / black and white stripey necklace on: February 22, 2005 08:16:58 PM
I just finished making this necklace. My mom started it years ago, but she only did about an inch. I found it awhile ago and have worked on it off and on. Recently I got really into it, and even brought it to school today so I could work on it.

I want to put a white ribbon through it so it will tie in a pretty little bow, but I didnt have any, so for now it just has string. What do you think?

543  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: how to harvest aloe vera on: February 14, 2005 09:00:02 PM
i haven't really found any good ways to preserve aloe. of course all i tried is freezing chunks of it (i thought the coldness plus the aloe soothingness would feel really good on burns) and refridgerating the mess i got when i scraped the gel out. when i refridgerated it, it got all moldy and nasty, and when i froze it, it got all dried out (but i just stuck chunks not in anything in the freezer. it would probably work if you put it in an airtight container or freezer bag or something.) probably your best bet would be to just harvest it as you use it. its really not that difficult. just break of a chunk, split it open with your nails and smear it wherever you want it. and i've never heard of nasty smelling aloe, thats odd. mine doesn't have any smell at all.

You make the hole with a hole punch before you shrink them and it shrinks to the perfect size. I love shrinky dinks! and I live in washington! Fun stuff.

yes, Amanda, I did finally hem the bottoms. And mrs.benjimadden, I'm happy to hear that I've inspired you to do something with those sheets.

thanks, I thought they were perfect too. Good for counting sheep when you can't get to sleep. I made my own pattern for it using some other pj pants. I traced parts of them onto newspaper and made up other parts.

I had these old sheets that I loved, flannel with blue sheep. But they were getting all worn out, so I turned them into these.

Wow, that is so cool. I usually don't like jean skirts much (I think because I see so many that seem exactly the same), but this on is so cool! Now I want to make something like that. The black and yellow is awesome.

All these bikes are awesome! Now I want to get a cool bike to paint.
sinnimaria- Where did you get such cool bike??! It was awesome loooking to start with, but now it is even better. I love it!
boygirlparty- I absolutely love the design you painted. It's great. You have inspired me to try something like this when I find a cool bike to paint.
I gave my bike away to this old lady with goats that doesn't have a car or anything. I hated how it looked anyway. It was too new looking. I love old bikes! But now I miss and sort of regret giving it away. Especially since she started being really rude to me. That's not cool. You should be nice to people who give you bikes.
