IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / "Flowers in the Attic"

Hey This is my first post in this section, and I so look forward to further delving in this area of craft, I love it!! I just have to get my act together and set up my own screen and stock up on some inks and all...Aaaanyways, in Craft at school, we could do silk-screening, it was a choice betweent aht and doing a mosiac. I hate mosaics. I had seen this design around here before, and came across it on http://threadless.com so was like OMG I HAVE TO HAVE IT! and stole it and cut it out on just normal paper and then screened it on with (most likely) cheap ink that my school had lying around. It was so damn fun I did manage to mess it up though. It was my first attempt, I thought I did ok. You can see where I did the red...Her head is kind of on top of the gun and not really connected to her body..But you can't tell when i'm wearing and there's nothing I can do about it now. http://www.oncebitten.org/images/wp/100_1840e.jpghttp://www.oncebitten.org/images/wp/100_1845e.jpgTip: Before you put your shirt through the wash...Iron over the design with some greasepaper in between or something..I kind of forgot and it faded SOO much.

on: April 08, 2005 08:42:11 PM
Oooh! I know this pattern has been around for a while, so maybe I've missed the whole lot of people wanting to knit this pattern, but I love it! Anyone want to join me? I'll host it and care for the Knit Along and stuff, all you have to do is knit this gorgeous little sweater http://www.glampyre.com http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id62.html Anyone?! I posted on the Knitty boards, too. This is a pretty casual KAL, I'll say. No deadlines, thoguh it would be nice if we all kind of started around the same time. I've already started, as has NonoKitty off the Knittyboards...Some one join us?!

MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Lincraft is Bankrupt!

Just letting everone know (though this will only be relevant to Aussies) that a major craft chain, Lincraft, has gone bankrupt. OR so I hear. And, they've got 50% off all fabrics, ribbons and things that are sold by the meter. This is a pretty good deal. They're approaching Spotlight, I think, to see if they want to buy into Lincraft. I think. But I know for sure that the sale is on! It's only on for ten days, though, so get in and buy up!! (I reckon we should have a topic or something to put up where we've come across great sales or something? and discount codes and that? Ona some other crafty boards I go to, they have that, and it's really handy!..Anyone agree?)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/Ashik0/100_0337.jpgI knitted it with this cotton/acrylic yarn I got from Elann. Somthing like "Naturelle 8/8" or something. I can't remember, and it was on a cone, so I don't have any labels. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/Ashik0/100_0330.jpgThat little bit sticking out is the crappy collar thing. When i wear it, I plan to always have that folded down PROPERLY! The pattern was from Rebecca 27, pattern 26. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/Ashik0/100_0331.jpgFor more info check it out at my blog. Sorry about the crapness of the pictures, but I have to take them all myself! Oooh, and excuse the boxer shorts, they're a bad fit because they were also a first (the first item of clothing I ever sewed)! Thanks for looking! If there's something wrong with it, let me know so I can improove, PLEEEEASE!! OOOK, I uploaded them to Photobueckt, the pictures should work from now on!

This might not be copletely appropriate, if so..Sorry. But this was the only place I thought I might find HELP! And, it is a crafty blog, after all, that is the problem! Someone who uses a Mac and "Safari" is having problems viewing my blog. For her it looks like this. When it should look like this. I'm no HTML/CSS wiz, but I did look through and there's nothign wrong at all with the codes, that I could see. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Or if you have the same/similar problems? (Theres a link to my blog in my signature, if you want to check out the source code) Thanks!

SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / How to make those fabric buttons??
on: January 09, 2005 09:38:10 PM
You know how you can get a normal crappy button and cover it with fabric or something..so it ends up like the kind of button that you put on top of a hat?..I know I once knew how to do it, or at least read about how to do it, but now I can't remember! I'm wanting to make a newboy cap, and I've got all my fabric cut out and everything (just waiting for the sewing machine to get fixed)..But I want the button to actually match the outer fabric! Thanks!
