3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fabric Rose Necklace on: March 19, 2011 02:29:47 PM
I found this recycled rose wreath tutorial http://alisaburke.blogspot.com/2010/02/recycled-roses-wreath-tutorial_24.html and decided to try my own roses! But instead I made a necklace. I just rolled some white fabric, glued with a hot glue gun, and then glued felt to the back. I used this great t-shirt type of fabric that rolls (I cut it off of a scarf I have) and used it for tying all together. Anyways, it's really easy and these can be made out of anything and used for anything!! Get creative! =)

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Feathery Tree Branch Wall Hanging(LOTSO PICS) on: March 18, 2011 01:34:18 PM
My sister has been obsessing over tree branches being decorated for hanging. So I of course have a lot of crafting stuff and feathers. I decided to create her something like what she wants but my way. Good thing her birthday is coming up so this can be a present! Anyways, I just drilled holes in the branch I found, and tied random lengths of jute string and began to fasten all kinds of things to hang on there. Feather clusters, random ties of colored leathers, chandelier crystals, felt circles, a stuffed fabric bird, leftover pendants... Anything I could find I have put on it!  Smiley Comments?!

Birdy!

Did I mention shells?

I love this picture.

HUGE old safety pin. A bunch of antique keys came on it.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: not for the faint of heart - Creepiest thing I've ever done on: December 17, 2010 09:30:26 AM
I do this with dead bugs too. I made a cool resin necklace using a wasp I found dead. It creeps people out but it looks so nice with amber colored beads. Also, I found a tiny dead scorpion once, I still have it stashed in my "dead bugs to turn into jewelry" box. The spider is great!!!!! Smiley
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Sticks and owls, a wreath for any occasion! on: December 06, 2010 01:12:43 PM
Do you mind me asking how you made the little owls?
http://moonstitches.typepad.com/moonstitches/2007/11/index.html Moonstitches is where I got the pattern and idea of the owls from.

Did you have to do anything to the sticks before using them? (I'm envisioning my house full of bugs or critters from the sticks, lol)
Well the sticks are from a tree that fell down in a windstorm 2 months ago. A friend broke them down into small pieces when he was preparing to make a fire pit which never happened. So these sticks were sitting on dirt for awhile and I didn't do anything to them. I have the wreath hanging on the front door so it's not inside. But I'm sure you could do something to the sticks to debug them if you were planning on using it inside.
